Author's pov:
Pankuri knocked gently on Siya's door, the sound echoing softly in the quiet of the room.
As she stepped inside, she was met with a poignant scene: Siya sat poised on the edge of her bed, her expression a delicate mask of composure.
Siya took a deep breath, her chest rising and falling as she fought to steady herself. She blinked rapidly, willing the tears that threatened to spill over to retreat.
" Sorry i disturbed you beta, but i rather disturb you at night than early in morning".
"For tomorrow, Brides in our family often wear outfits gifted from in-laws". Pankuri placed the gifts beside her with a calm demeanor. Siya slightly hummed in response.
"If you're not sleepy, can I sit with you for a while?" Taking a deep breath, she seeks permission to join her for a conversation.
The air around them is thick with unspoken words, and she knows that this moment could either bridge the gap that has formed between them or deepen it further. With a gentle nod, Siya invites her in.
"Tumhe pata hai, ek maa jab apni bahu utarti hai to woh usko apne bete se bhi jada pyar karti hai, kyu ki woh khud uske bete ki pasand hoti hai"
" Tum mere usi bete ki dulhan ho siya, jise mai apne sage bacho se bhi badh kar mangti hu".
"Haan"
" Sayad unse tumhe bataya na ho kabhi, yaa duniya ke tarah tumne bhi mujhe uski maa samjh liya ha".
"Khair yeh baat bhi alag hai woh khud se kabhi mujhe Mom ke siwa kuch nahi kehta".
"His mother lost her life when he was just 9".
"She was a dedicated social activist, known for her unwavering commitment to justice and equality, she was shot while bravely unveiling the secrets of her rival".
"At that age, Aagnay was able to understand what's happening around him, upon calling her mother thousands of times to wake up and she didn't, he understood why his mother is like this".
"He cried, yelled at her last rite".
" Apni maa ki arthi ke samne pathar jaisa khara woh 9 saal ka bacha apni maa ko aur sayad dekhna chahta tha unka chechra mann me aur thodi utarna chah raha tha, apni maa ko pareshan bhi karna chah raha lekin ushe pata tha unki khamosh ho jana ka karan".
"We somehow managed him, ushe shant karaya ushe sula diya aur tab tak Mr. Thakur performed her last rite at the cemetery".
" And when he woke up the next day, did you know what he asked?"
"Meri Maa kaha gayi?"
" And we-we were not able to answer him, not even able to articulate a word".
"He straightly ran to father to question her, and all he got was the anger of a man who just drained the ashes of his beloved wife".
"Mr. Thakur yelled at him, told him that she was responsible for her own death, told her a thousand times to stay out of their business background but her clemency cost her life".
"He pushed Aagnay and just went away, leaving him all alone, distressed and vulnerable".
" That was the day when he cried last in my arms, and then never in his 22 years of his life".
" Aagnay changed into AAGNAY PRATAP THAKUR, This Thakur all does MASSACRE, without an ounce of regret".
" I'm sorry if your thinking I'm here to lecture on my son's side, but you don't know what you're for him"
