This is the day after the whole restaurant thang. Just so you know, Inferno and March erased the other's minds and agreed that they would never speak of what happened ever again. Now that's some serious teamwork.
"Aaaaah." Cat yawned. "G'mornin."
Everyone was stretching awake in a field that they all slept in. Satou rubbed his eyes lazily. Emery's ears were droopy and tired. Every time Inferno let out a puff of air, a flame sparked out of his mouth. March had her hair out of the ponytail drills, and her tight curls flopped down her shoulders as she sat up. Amy was totally refreshed and happy.
"How can you smile in the morning..?" Inferno croaked like a creepy old man.
"Imma ghoooost." Amy giggled. "I don't get tired, hence I don't need sleep!!"
"Holy crap, if you keep up that smile, I'm gonna come over there and kill you again." March muttered.
Amy's happy smile turned into a lopsided, nervous, scared, fake laugh.
"Should I read the next letter aloud?" Amy tried to slide that away.
"Sure, sure, get on with it." Emery mumbled. She waved her hand impatiently as she was face down, half asleep on the ground.
"Okay, it says:
Dear Ladies and Gents,
You're soul key finding is expert if I do say so myself. The November soul key is about a village or two from this one. It's in a contest hall. All of you enter the contest as a team and win, you'll be awarded with the key!! That is.... If you can cook.
HERE'S A FACT ABOUT ME!! MY NAME ISN'T MYZ!! But it sounds pretty cool doesn't it? Yeah it does.
From your friendly friend,
Myz!!
"What? 'If we can cook'?" Lilan muttered.
"WOAH!! Where'd you come from all the sudden!?" Satou almost had a heart attack.
"Oh, well, the Sucre came back last night and tried to eat me again. But don't worry I fended them off." Lilan made a thumbs up.
"Not very reassuring but fine." Cat shrugged.
"It's obvious." March ripped up the letter and blew it away in the wind. "It's some kinda cooking contest. And lucky for you...." March held up her hand and a blinding light twirled out of it. The light shrouded itself around March. March's hair was in a single big drill ponytail, a green bow tying it up. She had on a short mint dress with a white collar and belt. March wore little black booties with clovers on the back of her heels. A pale orange apron draped over her dress. "March the professional chef is at your service!!" March held up a peace sign and a little green sparked popped out of it.
"I thought November was the best cook out of the months." Emery raised an eyebrow unimpressed.
March's confident pose turned into an embarrassed and devastated slump.
"Okay, November is a really good cook. But on Thanksgiving, she might be the one who cooks, but the great dessert that puts you into a food coma is all mine!!" March pouted.
''Then don't say you're a chef, say you're a baker." Cat rolled her eyes.
"Have you demons no morals..." March yet again slumped.
...
"Welcome to the Poinsettia Town Contest Hall! Are you here to enter today's contest: The Ultimate Team Chef Contest?" A quirky worker at the entrance of the hall chirped.
"Yes, we are. I hope it's not too late to enter...?" March asked.
"Oh no, you're just fine! Everyone's just preparing their ingredients backstage." The woman waved her hand signaling a door with contestants only scrawled out on it.
They walked toward the door and opened it. There in front of them was a big cool looking kitchen. People dashed all around in a hurry taking ingredients they needed out of cupboards and fridges. With the things these people were pulling out, it looked like your u could find just about anything in this kitchen. They were organizing their ingredients and getting the bowls or pans they needed out. A man walked up to them.
''Oh, so you're competing! Hi, I'm the host and food taster if this contest and this team just looks delightful! As you can see, the other teams are getting everything they need out. This extra cooking area right here will be where you're stationed. Good luck!" The man shook everyone's hand, swayed around a curtain, and went back into the audience area.
"OK, SO WHAT'RE WE MAKING, MARCH!!" Lilan spun around looking at the flurries of people skidding around.
"UH, AH, I DUNNO!!" March cried.
"DID YOU LITERALLY ENTER US IN A CONTEST WHEN YOU DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT WE WERE GOING TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE!?" Amy yelled.
No one payed attention over the noise and chaos.
"HOW ABOUT WE MAKE POKÉPUFFS!?" Emery offered.
"WHAT THE- NO!?" Satou slapped her in the arm.
"OH OH LET'S MAKE CRÊPES!!" Cat screamed.
"OMG CAT THAT'S- actually not a bad idea." Inferno stopped screaming.
"I know the recipe by heart! Everyone, listen to or else we're screwed, got it?" March held out her fist.
"I'm game." Lilan shrugged. She held out her fist as well. Everyone else copied. The did a multiple way fist bump.
"CAT GO GET OIL!!" March screamed.
"AYE AYE, CAP'N!!" Cat saluted and ran to fetch oil.
"FERNO!! EGGS!!" March instructed.
"Gosh woman, I get it! Just stop screaming already." Inferno rolled his eyes and ran to get eggs.
March huffed. "Jerk. Amy, I need you to get milk!"
"M'kay!" Amy floated away.
"Emery, some sugar please!!" March asked.
"On it!" Emery sprinted off.
"Satou, go get me a butter!" March faced him.
Satou just nodded confidently and marched off (lol March, marched, get it. Ha. Please forgive for that awful joke...).
March grabbed a frying pan from a cupboard. When the others came back with their retrieved items, the set them up to prepare. Shortly after, the judge guy came back.
"EVERYONE!! The contest is starting in less than a minute!! Put on some pretty faces and be ready to cook!!" He announced then dashed away.
Everyone stood up straight and plastered their best smiles on. After a few silent seconds, the evergreen curtains swayed back revealing a huge crowd. Three judges we seated behind a long narrow table with silverware and napkins ready. The host/judge guy stood up.
"Welcome everyone, to The Ultimate Team Chef Contest!! I'm your host and judge, Fog Delson! We have a great set of teams this month! Our first team," Fog pointed to a group in the top left corner, "Now, what is your team name?"
One girl with ankle length, spiky, blue and pink hair cleared her throat. "We're the Taste Buddies." She had a cute smile. Her team consisted of only cute girls so it was obvious they would prepare something adorable.
"And you?" Fog pointed to the next team.
A guy with halo and wings spoke up. "We're the Everlasting Flavors." All of the guys on his team were angels and the girls were demons. An interesting group but it was obvious that these devilish ladies were gonna put up a good fight.. And the guys were scared to death.
Fog's finger landed on March and the rest. "Your team's name?"
"We're... The..." March started.
"FIRE!" Inferno yelled.
"SPIRIT!" Amy screamed.
"ORB!" Satou followed.
"MERMAID?" Lilan guessed.
"MONTH!?" March tried to play along.
"CATS!" Cat exclaimed.
Fog and the audience were in silence. "The Fire Spirit Orb Mermaid Month Cats?.... It's interesting, I like it!" Fog grinned.
March and the others all sighed of relief.
"NOW LET'S GET COOKIN'!!" Fog pumped his fist.
The second he said that, all of the contestants started in a flash.
Cat tossed eggs to March as she cracked them into a bowl. Lilan flipped the bottle of oil at March. Emery whisked like a beast. Satou dumped flour and butter in. Inferno poured a very thin layer of batter onto the frying pan. Amy sprinkled sugar on the sizzling treat as she flipped it over to the other side. The Everlasting Flavors had melted dark and white chocolate flying from place to place. Their working was speedy but organized. The Taste Buddies were cute but serious. Sugar and edible, decorative pearls were dabbed onto their master piece. They had melted caramel, whipped cream, ect.. March furrowed her brow.
"We have some good competition! Do you guys want to win that key or not!?" March yelled to her team.
"We want that key!!" They announced back.
"Then pick up the pace and go, go, goo!!" March clapped her hands.
They drizzled melted butter on the crêpes, added whipped cream, and sprinkled walnuts around on three plates.
"FINISHED!" All of the groups yelled in unison.
"Okay! First team is the Taste Buddies. Please present your food." Fog sat up in his chair.
The Taste Buddies carried a silver tray with a white cover on top to the judges. The pink and blue haired one whisked the white cloth away.
"PRESENTING.." She said loudly and clearly. "THE SPRINGTIME GARDEN MACARONS!"
There were pastel pink, blue, green, purple, orange, and yellow macarons, decorated with candy flowers and butterflies and bunnies. Fog and two other judges each took one. They took a bite.
"Mmmm, these are spectacular!" One judge gushed and shoved the rest in her mouth.
"Such a fine treat!" Fog nodded and finished his.
"Such a unique, buttery, creamy taste!" The other judge sighed and finished his.
Next came the Everlasting Flavors. They sauntered down to the judges with a gold tray and lid.
One of the demon girls grinned evily.
"Here is our cake that combines both Heaven and Hell..." She lifted off the lid. "The Devilishly Holy Cake!!"
There was a white and dark chocolate icing treat that swirled in spirals to the top of the cake. It had little milk chocolate demons and angels playing rimmed around the bottom.
The judges took a slice and a nibble.
"Incredible!!" Fog drooled and finished the rest of his cake.
"The blend of the white and dark chocolate is SOOO delectable!" The lady giggled and ate her cake in joy.
"So bitter and sweet! It's a mix of all flavors!" The other judge smiled with approval and cleared his plate.
Next was March and the rest. The brought the crêpes down on a dark red platter. March set them down.
"Presenting our Crêpes Du L' Hexagon!" March announced.
"These look amazing!!" Fog gasped.
"WA... WAAAA. WAAACHOOO!" Inferno sneezed turning the crêpes into a bonfire.
"March had a shady look in her eyes. She grabbed Inferno's neck and started shaking him back and forth.
"YOU CRAPPY IDIOT, DO YOU EVEN CARE ABOUT LIFE, I HOPE YOU SET YOURSEKF ON FIRE AND BURN TO DEATH, IF YOU DIE I'LL DANCE ON YPUR GRAAAAAAAAVE!" March roared.
Fog had an uncomfortable laugh. "The Fire Spirit Orb Mermaid Month Cats are disqualified."
"OH HEEEEEEEEEEELL TO DA NOOOOOOOOO." March flicked her finger and levitated the key into her hand.
She started running and the confused others followed close behind.
"HEY COME BACK!!" Fog screamed.
"Hey, Emery, you know what to do." March nodded to Emery.
"My pleasure." Emery had an evil grin.
As the other kept running she stop and turned back around to the contest hall. She sprinted super fast until she swung up her leg and propelled herself off the ground. When she was directly above the ground, a dark sphere form in her mouth. It got bigger and bigger.
"HYAAAAH!!" Emery yelled and blasted the ball at the building.
It blew up and had navy blue flames.
"MWAHAHAHAHAHA!! Emery cackled.
Emery ran and caught back up with the others.
"Ah, you're a really good friend." March laughed.
"Hey, that's just what friends do." Emery smiled.
''No. Friends don't do that. And if friends do that, you're supposed to run for dear life..." Inferno mumbled.
