As with every foggy evening, the Lightkeeper completes his usual round of surveying the graveyard to ensure nothing is amiss. Fortunately, it is yet another fairly peaceful one—some headless enemies, all dealt with easily without much of a breath. An easy evening.
Just as he is about to head into the lighthouse, some scurrying sounds nearby catches his attention. Without any sense of urgency, he follows the source of the mysterious presence, simply confident that no matter what it is, he can swiftly end it.
The tip of his polearm carefully parts the bushes to reveal... a cat? Well, stumbling across a creature or two out in the graveyard isn't uncommon. "Might I ask what a tiny critter such as yourself is doing around these parts?" he asks, his voice low.
Hissing, the cat starts jumping up (more like struggling to do so) at his leg, pawing aggressively as if its ultimate goal is to rip up his nice boots. Its tail swishes in clear annoyance, ears flattening against its head. Flins simply chuckles and crouches down to allow the cat to scramble up his arm and perch on his shoulder, its paw reaching out to immediately whack him on the face.
But of course, because the nails on the paw have already been carefully trimmed, the attack feels more like a gentle prod, if anything. And he knows very well the cat is also aware of this fact as it bristles and growls at him.
Alright... he should stop the teasings.
"Please accept my sincere apologies, moonlight," he murmurs, leaning his face close to the cat, his nose nudging its cheek. Though he says this, his voice is evidently laced with amusement.
Poof!
Right as you transform back into a human, he holds onto your thighs to steady you against him, heading to the direction of the lighthouse in a slow and relaxed manner. While you're complaining about how he's always so cruel to mess with you to no ends, your arms wrapped around his head, he's smiling faintly and humming to show he's truly listening to your cute rambles.
You were recently cursed by a witch who put a particular spell that causes you to randomly turn into a black cat from time to time; you can be grocery shopping or even showering, and out of the blue, a black fluff will emerge from the puff of smoke. The good news is that to fix it, you just need a spark of affection from someone who you regard as special and significant.
So while a small team of researchers have been working diligently to figure out how to completely break the curse, your boyfriend has agreed to help you out by letting you stay with him at the lighthouse. You swear he gets a bit too much of an enjoyment at times whenever he sees your cat form, wanting to give you loving pets, ear scratches, cuddles in his lap, and even hand feed you.
Admittedly, the pets are... nice. But you're not interested in staying as a tiny cat for any longer than necessary!
"Entertain me, would you, moonlight? Why were you roaming around the graveyard during the darkest hour? You understand it's not an ideal place to linger, considering how foggy it gets."
"I was looking for you to come inside for dinner since you weren't there yet, but well... you already know what happened," you grumble under your breath. "I hid in the bushes in case those headless guys appeared."
"A few mere minutes over the expected time of my return home," he muses, flickering his nonchalant gaze over to you. "Did you, perhaps, miss my presence?"
"I just didn't want to eat without you, is all," you argue, looking away from him in slight embarrassment. "And I got a bit worried too—wah!" Your yelp rings in the evening air at the sudden enemies charging toward both of you, and of course, they had to be those disturbing headless guys.
Flins adjusts you on his shoulder, his grip tightening around you. He elegantly swings his weapon toward the first enemy, a flash of electro hitting it as it drops to the ground with a soft thud. A few more strikes and flashes, all while keeping you safe and sound on his shoulder.
"(Y/N)," his voice fills in the silence after a moment, his gloved thumb rubbing your thigh in soothing circles, "I have dealt with the enemy. Would you please loosen your hold around my delicate head?"
You immediately let go, petting his soft hair in the process, and apologize profusely for squeezing too intensely. The male gives you a small smile, reaching up to gently pat your head in return. "I must say, the act of caressing your head is pleasant as is. But... to be on the receiving end..." he trails off, beginning to walk again.
"Flins?"
He makes sounds of what seems to be a mixture of sheer happiness and amusement under his breath, his expression softened. "I may not mind if you passed the curse onto me. Constant attention and the utmost care from you sounds rather intriguing."

Flins needs a nice break from his duties as Lightkeeper. Being a cute cat seems like the perfect way to do that.
