The morning hours of Monday consist of soft humming to pleasant tunes as the day's delivery packages are being cut open and rummaged through. You reach into the corrugated box to grab a bundle of beautiful, pink flowers that have fading pale yellow and light blue tips. What a unique and cute appearance to them. Your fingers trace over the scrawled letters on the label.

"Hmm..." you murmur in fascination, having taken quite a liking to these newcomers, "...how lovely."

After organizing them in an attractive way, you put them together in a white vase, adding a touch of a yellow ribbon wrapped around the neck. You head over to the display window and place the flowers under the warm sunlight that's permeating into the shop. Clicking open the pen, the ink easily glides across the label to write out the flower's name in a delicate, script font.

There. Now the other bundles can be stored away in the back.

While you're cleaning up the place, wiping down the front counter and picking up stray pieces of stems, the soft jingles indicate the first arrival for the day. You lift your head to greet a familiar presence, a warm smile gracing your face.

"Hey bro, how has your shop been holding on? What's new?"

You watch as the male adjusts his hat and walks over to the display window, picking up a vase of pale pink flowers with a hidden yellow center that's barely peeking out. He hums and sets it down, picking up the one beside it: the new arrivals you were working on a moment ago.

"These are sick! Never seen a look like these guys before," he calls out over his shoulder, grinning.

Ah... Ifa. Simply seeing him is comparable to receiving a brand-new package of flowers, or when a first-time customer leaves the shop with a bouquet (or more) and a satisfied smile, thanking you for your patience and excellent service. You cannot deny these ever-growing feelings for him—for the one who found you stumbling on the streets and tended to your minor injuries.

And you swear you can feel your heart fluttering even more evidently with the way he basks under the sunlight's glow, his sea-green gaze focused on the flowers in his hand. Light brown fingers firmly grip around the base of the vase, turning it around in curiosity to observe further.

"Yoo, bro! Sick flowers!"

The chirping coming from the floating companion interrupts your thoughts, and you can't help the amused chuckle. "Hello to you too, Cacucu."

"Will you look at that, buddy. It's pink, like you!" Ifa holds the flowers up next to Cacucu, his eyes flickering between the two, before he turns to you. "What do you think—crazy, yeah? This is Cacucu in flower form, one hundred percent."

Seeing the two so easily excited over this, you halt your cleaning task and poke through the small pile of flower trimmings, picking up a rounded petal with a blue fading. You gesture for the Saurian to come over, which he happily obliges. "Stay still for me, little guy."

When you move your hand back, Cacucu starts flying in circles, sharing his sheer happiness with the humans around him as his curled hair piece bounces atop his head. It's heartwarming to see him being this thrilled over something so simple. "No way, no way! Thanks, bro!" he chirps.

Ifa laughs and claps you on the shoulder, pulling you in for an unexpected side hug. Fresh cologne fills your senses as his other hand moves over to ruffle your hair lovingly, his attention on his companion unwavering. "Thanks, (Y/N). He's never taking that flower off his head, I'm telling you now," he says, a mixture of amusement and affection laced in his voice.

As expected, even after a week later, Cacucu still has the petal securely tied around the root of his hair piece. The veterinarian smiles to himself, still touched by the sweet gesture that day, his thoughts momentarily drifting to you and your serene and caring presence. Just as he finishes writing today's medical notes down, the clinic's door bursts open, startling him greatly.

His surprise quickly shifts to content as he raises a hand to the heavily breathing female, gaze softening. "Yo, Mua! What's good?" he calls out, tilting his head upon noticing the white vase in her hands. Isn't that the same one he complimented a while back? "You visited (Y/N)'s flower shop?"

Mualani takes a deep breath and shakes her head aggressively, setting the flowers down. Her fish-shaped pupils widen in clear excitement, her hands clasping together. "A messenger asked me to hand this to you; it's a gift from (Y/N)! How thoughtful...! To receive flowers while I'm at work... if only..." She sighs dreamily, looking up at the ceiling for a moment. "But that's beside the point! Don't you know what Rainbow Roses represent?!"

Oh, right! He recalls the conversations with you about potential meanings to certain flowers, though he didn't realize it would apply to these new guys as well. Since you didn't say anything as usual, he figured there isn't any meaning to them. But if Mualani is acting this way... perhaps you may have forgotten such a detail?

Tapping the pen to his lips, he hums and squints at the plant. How about... encouragement? It would make sense for you to send him some positive vibes since he did mention last week that he has been incredibly busy with work. Maybe... good luck? After some more contemplation, he shrugs and gives her a lazy smile. "Beats me. Spill."

She looks around cautiously, biting her finger as she jumps up and down in place, making him raise his brow and grin. "Romance and passion...!" she whispers as if it's some deep secret that is only reserved for their ears to hear. "Ahhh, even saying it is making my heart melt!" she continues.

Ifa's fingers slowly loosen, the pen dropping to the wooden table with a quiet clink. He can feel his heart pounding loudly within, his ears ringing with the very same rhythmic beats. It feels like his insides are being squeezed in the most pleasant way possible, his gloved hand pressed against where his heart lies to hold onto this pure feeling. The clinic feels like it's closing in, eager to trap and suffocate him in this space.

Is this some kind of sick joke, or a mistake from the cheerful female?

But as her excitable rambles fill the atmosphere, even his own companion's repeated "no way, bro!" and "for real?" buzz in his ears, Ifa's sole thoughts are of you.
