Chapter 7
The dream faded away and I knew the answer to that question. That if it were real, I would be more content with it. I got ready as usual and headed for the front door. I was wearing a beautiful blue dress that reached my knees and covered my shoulders. It had a v-neckline that reached halfway down the area between my breasts. I was wearing heels that I had worn to a cousin’s wedding and my day to day jewelry. My make-up was done the same as every other day; foundation, eyeliner, mascara, blush, and lip gloss. My hair was down in its natural wavy state. I got to school and the events leading to the valedictorian speech were a blur to me. I was seated in my chair with my diploma in my hand looking at the stage. I waited patiently as Bill made his way to the podium for his speech. He reached it and cleared his throat. Then he began.
“Hello fellow classmates, school faculty, and proud parents. I am most appreciative of being my class’s valedictorian and being able to speak on their behalf. We have all gone through rough times here in school. We tried to make it through the day without falling asleep in class or falling behind. Some of us had to deal with being bullied and all I can say is; well, now we’re free of that. We made it to the end of the year in one piece. We made it out alive. Now I would like to address some of the people that helped me to this place. I would like to thank my parents for their love and support, especially when I was trying to make new friends. I would like to thank my brother, Tom for trying to include me. I would like to thank the staff for being nice to me when I first started school here. I would also like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Gordon for accepting me the first time they saw me. The last person I would like to thank is someone who has shown me kindness, compassion, the belief that I could do anything I set my mind to, and giving me the self confidence I lacked. This person befriended me when no one else would and saw my flaws as something that interested her. Sienna Gordon, you are the most important person in my life and I would like to show you how much I appreciate your friendship by playing a song I wrote. Tom, would you come up here with your guitar?”
What is he doing? I can’t believe he said that about me. Tom soon reached the stage with his guitar and I saw Gerhard and Gregor come with their instruments already set up. I began to get nervous. I realized that it looked like this was planned from the start. The boys began playing a song that I didn’t recognize. Then Bill started singing.
“I see you staring at me,
I feel your affection for me,
I don’t want you to stop,
Or else my bubble will pop,
This will never drop,
You are Perfect, My Love,
Like an angel from up above,
You are perfect to me,
You are the only one to be,
You are Perfect, My Love,
I watch you fall fast asleep,
In a piled messy heap,
I hear you breathe every breath,
We will never see death,
Today’s the final step,
You are Perfect, My Love,
Like an angel from up above,
You are perfect to me,
You are the only one to be,
You are Perfect, My Love,
I want you to be with me every day,
