Chapter 2
After that I started dancing on him and him on me. Where did this side of him come from? I think I like it. We were having so much fun. We danced to “Naked Love” and “Pop That Lock.” When “Better Than I Know Myself” came on, I couldn’t help but sing along. Bill kept looking at me while he was dancing and me at him. It was amazing. It was like we were in our own universe. All of a sudden, I heard the basement door open and shut as footsteps were made coming down the stairs. Bill and I continued to dance. My little sister, Amy, appeared in the entryway of the stairs.
“What are you doing and who is this,” she so politely yelled. Note the sarcasm. Bill and I stopped dancing and turned towards her.
“Hi, Amy. What? No ‘Hi Sienna,’” I said knowing that I was annoying her.
“Hi Sienna, what are you doing and who is this,” she repeated herself.
“This is my new friend, Bill, and we were dancing free-style to Adam Lambert “Better Then I Know Myself” until a few seconds ago.”
“Ooohh, I see,” Amy said as she backed up the stairs.
“And that, Bill my friend, was my little sister, Amy, the one who bit me when we were younger.”
“Do you have any other siblings,” Bill asked me.
“No, just us girls and my parents.” I turned off the music and said, “That reminds me, wanna meet my mom?”
“Sure.” We headed upstairs and into the living room. My mom was seated in her usual seat on the end of the couch.
“Hey mom, this is my new friend, Bill. I invited him to come over after school today. Bill this is my mom.”
“Hi Mrs. Gordon, it’s nice to meet you,” Bill greeted my mom.
“Hi Bill, it’s nice to meet you too. Do you plan on staying here for dinner,” my mom asked.
“I’m not sure; if Sienna wants I could stay for dinner. I don’t want to intrude,” Bill politely said.
“Mom, can he,” I said with high hopes.
“Sure but we’re going to Subway for dinner,” mom replied.
“I’ll pay for him then.”
“Surprisingly I have my own money on me,” Bill tried to get out of a free meal.
“Oh no, I’m treating you my friend. You are not getting out of a free meal. I mean, who wouldn’t want a free meal,” I rhetorically questioned. “Come on, wanna go outside?”
“Sure.” I grabbed Bill’s hand and pulled him outside. I dragged him all the way to my swing set. We sat down on the swings and were silent.
