Roxie's POV
It was 3 hours later when we all ran back to the house. I couldn't stop grinning like an idiot. The entire run we played tag. I was never "it" due to the fact I couldn't shift so I just jumped up and grabbed on low hanging branches, which got in Dad's nerves but was so funny!!
"I'm going into the house to shower and change! Clothes are by the tree line!" I yelled over my shoulder as I walked into the door of the pack house. I hurried up the stairs and ran to my room.
I immediately started to undress while I picked up my cellphone to see if I had any missed calls. I frowned as I looked at my phone. (2) missed phone calls, (2) voicemail, and (2) texts. 'Weird, oh well better see who they are from.' I thought to myself and Lunar. I immediately clicked on the voicemail first.
"Hey, birthday girl! I hope you are having a wonderful birthday. Me and your cousins will be down this weekend to help celebrate! Give me a call or text if you want me to bring something special all the way from California. Let your Mom and Dad know I will call when we leave to go to Kentucky! I love you, baby girl!"
I smiled as I listened to my Aunt Tonya's voice. 'I wonder what she is gonna bring!!' I thought excitedly.
Lunar laughed, 'Whatever it will be, it will be gorgeous. She always brings beautiful things when she visits with your cousins.'
'I can't wait! I better tell mom and dad, at dinner maybe,' I smiled, 'Now to check the rest on my phone and then shower!' I felt her shake her head at me. I clicked on the other voicemail.
I smiled as soon as I recognized the country twang of my best friend Kacy, the beta's daughter. "Hey, birthday girl!! I know your probably out running around doing whatever you do being an alphas daughter. Well I hope this weekend is free cause girl! We are going to be going shopping and watching movies!!! I will call your mom tomorrow to make sure that it's okay! Love ya Roxie!"
"Now for the texts," I muttered aloud. As I clicked on the messages to read them, the phone rang. I dropped my phone on the bed and ran to the phone, knowing that Mom and Dad were outside talking in low voices. "Hello! This is Roxie, how may I help you?!" I said cheerfully.
"Hello Roxie," answered a deep familiar voice, "This is Alpha Mejia. I have something I need to ask your father. May I speak with him?"
I smiled into the phone, " Yes, sir. Let me call him for you." I answered at the same time mind-linking Dad. 'Alpha Mejia is in the phone. He needs to ask you something.' I felt him send me a slit nod. "He will be right in sir. I don't mean to speak out of turn, sir, but....Uhm...never mind sorry sir I shouldn't ask that."
"What's wrong, pup? You may ask me whatever it is." He stated, curiosity in his voice.
"Is Pete okay? He looked so sad when he left. I was worried he got bad news from home or something," I rushed out quickly.
There was silence for a moment before he answered, "He is fine, Roxie. I was going to ask your father something about Peter. Oh I remember your father saying that your birthday is today. Happy birthday!!"
I giggled into the phone then heard a chuckle behind me. I turned around and smiled at my dad. "Hey, Daddy!" I greeted him then spoke into the phone, "Thank you, Alpha Mejia! My dads here, here he is." Then handed my dad the phone. I mouthed to him, 'Going to shower then I'll be back down.' He nodded, I took off for the stairs humming as I went to my room to shower.

Hal's POV
"Greeting, Alpha Mejia. What can I do for you?" I asked him.
I heard a sigh on the other end, then started speaking formally. "My warrior, Pete who came with me, I believe he may have a small connection with your daughter, Roxie. I believe, after her asking about him, she has a small one to. I don't know what it means," he paused then hurried on, "but I would like for your permission for him to go stay with you, to train, and to see if there is indeed a connection there or not. If not to find that out but then to just train with you so he can come back and train some of the other warriors." Alpha Mejia finished.
I stood there for a moment going through everything the previous day. Roxie did seem to have a connection to the young man and he with her. When they were leaving, he couldn't take his eyes off her. I sighed then answered, "I don't mind but I will not hesitate to put the boy in his place if I feel he oversteps his bounds with my daughter or pack. How soon can he be there?"
"About 2 hours after he packs. I wanted your permission before I told him. Thank you, Alpha Moore. I will go speak with the boy now," Alpha Mejia paused, then continued, "Have a good day and I hope Roxie has a wonderful birthday. I'll send a gift with Peter for her. Good day."
I muttered my 'goodbye' and 'thank you' before he hung up. I sighed as I felt Mary's arms wrap around me from behind. I smiled and turned around to her, "How about we go take a shower together to save water?" I wink once at her earning a small smack on my arm.
"After you tell me about that conversation you were having with Alpha Mejia," she answered me.
"He wanted to see if that young warrior, Peter, to come and stay for a while as he trains and ," I paused before I told her about a possible connection between the two, "Also we believe that our young Roxie and Peter have a small connection. But don't worry I already told Alpha Mejia that I will put the pup in his place if he oversteps any boundaries." I stopped and looked at her.
She smiled at me softly, "Only the moon goddess will know. Now let's go take that shower," she whispered to me, then kissed my lips softly. I smiled against her lips and nodded.
