Roxie's POV

When I had scrubbed all the blood off of my body, I just stood there under the water as all the reminders of the night where washed away by the water.

After the water had gone cold and I cried all my tears, I got out and dried off. As I was getting dressed I smelled bacon, eggs, sausage, and toast. I smiled to myself, "Of course, it's my birthday!! She always cooks me my favorite breakfast on my birthday!!"
I ran as fast as I could down the hall, when I reached the stairs I slide down the banister to the ground floor. Skipping into the kitchen to help. "Smells amazing, Momma." I say in greeting.

"Hey sweetie," she smiles, then stated, "Your father will be with us shortly. The pack doctor will be joining us for breakfast."

I nodded my head to show that I had heard then went and set the table. After the table was set, I wondered into the living room sitting down on the couch, Indian style. As I sat there in quiet meditation I heard my dad coming downstairs and go straight for the kitchen. "Food ready?" He mocked whispered to my mom. She giggled in response.

"I'm on my way!!!" I hollered loudly. By the time I reached the hallway between the kitchen and living room, a car pulled in and I heard Ray get out of his car. "I'll get the door for him!!" Running to the door to throw it open just as he went to knock.

"Well, I see someone's excited for today," he said in way of greeting. "Now I know today is special, but why is it?" He pretended to think hard. "That's right! Its someone's 15th birthday!" He smiled down at me as I jumped up to hug him tightly. He laughed into my hair as he held me close. Then proceeded to carry me to the kitchen, kicking the door shut as he passed it. "I present the birthday girl!" He announced to the kitchen, as he let go of me.

"Ray Ray!!! Not cool, don't you know that's not cool to do to the birthday girl?" I said as I put my hands on my hips to pretend anger. I then proceeded to grab his hand and drag him to the table where mom had all the food at. "Doesn't is smell and look amazing? Like always." I stated.

He laughed, "Yea it always does. Now what is on the agenda for today? Or have you not thought of that yet?"

I looked at Mom and smiled. "He likes your cooking so much that he has a belly going on, ain't that right Mom?"

Everyone busted out laughing at that statement. Dad looked at Ray and said, "Damn I think she knows your secret there, Doc. Now how about we dig into this fine meal and get stuffed then talk about plans for the day."

....

An hour later.

"I believe mom has succeeding in getting us all stuffed. How about we all go for a run after we help clean up?" Dad asked everyone. Everyone nodded and started to clean up.

Cleaning up having been done all three adults went outside and into the woods to undress and shift as I went back up stairs to dress for a run. I found my favorite shorts and shirt, put on my sports bra, and had my hair into a braid. After I was done, I grabbed my iPod and went outside finding three wolves waiting for me.

'I forgot how long women take to get ready for stuff,' Dad teased through the pact link.

I answered by rolling my eyes at him. "Ready to go?" I spoke aloud, getting nods of affirmatives from the wolves. I put my headphones in, hit play on my "Run" playlist, and started running of in a random direction.

As I entered the woods I heard them taking off after me. I smiled as my dad come loping up beside me and yipped. 'Really, Dad? When you become a puppy again?'

'I ain't no pup!! You're the pup. Even though your the birthday girl,' he replied, feigning hurt.

'Sorry Dad. You were acting like one thought I would ask,' I apologize, smiling.

.....

After running for an hour we came upon a fork in the trail. 'Which way, Roxie?' Dad asked me.

I looked at the trials, one was going north the other north-west. I closed my eyes and spun in a circle, when I
stopped I opened my eyes. I was pointing at the north trail. 'How about the north trial?' I asked them, turning to look at them.

They nodded their heads and took off. I smiled as I started running after them. 'This is an amazing birthday!!' I thought to myself, bursting with happiness.

Little did I know........that night, my life would be forever changed.
