Prologue

Mary's POV

"Hal!! The baby is coming!!" Mary screamed at Hal as a contraction hit. "Oh, Goddess, please keep my daughter safe." She prayed.

Hal's POV

"I called the pack doctor, Mary. He should be here soon. Look at me and breathe." I said in a calm manner to my beautiful mate. "Oh, Goddess, please watch over my mate and my daughter." I prayed silently. She had been having complications during her pregnancy, she had been on bed rest since 7 months and she wasn't due for another three weeks.

"Hal, I think my water just broke and I feel like I need to push," I heard her whisper as she squeezed my hand. I looked down to see the sheets soaked. I saw blood also, in a panic I mind linked the pack doctor, Ray, "Her water broke and I see blood. Where the hell are you?!"

"About to pull in, Alph- I mean Hal. I'll be in momentarily." Came the quick reply.

"The doctor is here, my love." I told her with a smile. "Soon our beautiful baby girl will be here and you can hold her and kiss her." She smiled gratefully to me, squeezing my hand slightly before a contraction hit.

Ray walked in and looked at me and said, "Hal, please move to her side and get ready," And I gladly stood by my mate's side holding her hand, then I looked at Ray and nodded. "Well, Mary, you are fully dilated. You ready to have this baby?"

"Yes, Doc, I am. I am so...READY!!!!!" She screamed as a contraction hit. Squeezing my hand.

"Okay push!!!" Ray said.

An hour later, I heard a baby's cry and looked down to see my beautiful little girl. "I have everything you told me to have ready over here, Doc." I told him pointing to the table next to the bed.

"Hal, is she okay? Is our daughter okay?" She asked me frantically.

I smiled down at her with tears in my eyes, "Yes, love. She is beautiful! As soon as he gets done cleaning her up and checking her, you can hold her. You did a beautiful job, baby." She smiled at me and laid her head back down.

I walked over to check on the baby. She was looking around and when her eyes landed on me she started smiling. I looked at Ray and asked, "She okay? Mary wants to know."

"She is fine, Hal. All ten fingers and toes accounted for." Ray said with a chuckle.

"Okay, good. Can I give her to Mary?" I asked hesitantly.

"Yes, Alpha. She is perfectly healthy." He told me.

"Ray, I told you. You can call me Hal. For crying out loud we grew up together, it's still weird hearing you call me Alpha." I told him chuckling as he handed me my daughter. I walked back to Mary's side and whispered, "Here she is, my love, our beautiful baby girl. What will her name be?" I knew she already had one picked out but wouldn't tell me.

She smiled and said, "Roxanne Lilith Moore. We can call her Roxie for short." She looked at me with a smile.

Then all the sudden the room shook and everything became bright in the middle of the room. I covered Mary and our newborn, Roxie. I felt a calming and loving presence close to me. I turned and almost choked on a growl. "Moon Goddess!!"

"Yes, my child." She said smiling at me. I instantly dropped to my knees bowing respectfully to her. "Rise. I can feel your fear, there is no reason to fear. I have come to tell you of a prophecy that was long ago foretold of a female wolf, who would possess great power, would save humans and the supernatural world from destruction. Your daughter is the one the prophecy speaks of. Unfortunately there is a sad part, on her 16th birthday she will become blind." She finished.

I was frozen in place. Then I heard a strangled cry and quickly turned back to look at my mate to see her crying. "Mary, our daughter is so special. She will be trained from an early age to defend herself. We will protect her, I promise you." I promised as I wiped the tears from her face.

She looked at me sadly and spoke, "I know she will be." Then she looked at the Moon Goddess and asked in a tired voice, "Are we able to tell her of this prophecy or keep it a secret from her? Also, how soon will her powers develop?"

The Goddess looked at her and smiled, "All on her 16th birthday. You may tell her on her 15th, to give her time to prepare for her 16th. No one is to know but you three till then." She said the last part with a serious expression. " I forbid for anyone to know, you may talk about it to each other but with no one else around not even little Roxie." She then walked up and leaned down to kiss Roxie's forehead softy. "Sleep well young one, for you are very special to us all."

With those final words she disappeared. I turned to Ray and asked, "You swear to not speak of this to anyone? My love, this goes for you to. Let us all make a pact to never speak of this to anyone but us until her 15th birthday." They both nodded.
