Roxie POV

As my mom walked out of the room I looked at my phone and decided to text Kacy first.

Roxie: "Hey Kacy! So I was just wanting to see what you wanted to do tomorrow. We have a warrior from another pack coming to train with my dad for a while. BTW he is a cutie ;)"

I smiled as I waited for a reply. As usual I didn't have to wait for very long.

Kacy: "OMG!! You lucky girl! Getting to be in the same house as a cutie! Oh well I'll see him soon enough to I guess ;) lol. Anyways I wanted to see if we could go shopping at the local mall get some new clothes and to give you your b-day present. I know you don't like malls but please huse this once for me?!"

I shook my head. Of course she wants to take me out to the mall, it's her favorite place. It's got food and stores all in one place, as she loves to say. I started typing my reply.

Roxie: "Lol I'll ask dad and mom tonight. I got to go help mom with dinner. I'll let you know what they say after dinner. Have fun!"

Kacy: "Okay! Have fun ;) later!"

I smiled down at her texts and went to call my Aunt Tonya.

~Ring....Ring....Ring~

"Hello?" My aunt answered with her country twang.

I smile into the phone, "Hey, Aunt Tonya. I was just returning your call. How's everyone doing?"

"Roxie! I should have known it was you. Hope you have been having a good day. I am pretty sure you already let your mom know but I'm going to call her tomorrow to speak with her about acouple things for the birthday girl," she says, I can hear her smiling through the phone.

"I will let her know when I go help with supper. It's my favorite. Enchiladas!" I say excitedly.

She laughs, "Of course, should have known that one before you said it. Well lil niece of mine go have fun and hopefully see you this weekend. I love you."

We say our goodbyes then I put my phone down and start to head downstairs. I skip into the kitchen, noticing how Ray was talking to Dad having a good time. Then dad caught sight of me and ran toward me making me giggle then squeal with he picked me up.

"Dad! I'm not a little girl anymore, I'm 15." I giggle as he sets me on the counter.

He laughs and replies, "No matter how big you get, you will always be my baby girl." He then kisses my cheek causing me to giggle more. He then turns to mom, "So how many enchiladas we gonna be having tonight? Cause k got a feeling I may eat all of them."

Ray laughs in the corner, "I think we may all eat a lot tonight. I'm going to go into the living room and make sure a certain teenage girl doesn't try to get a sneak peak at her presents." He winked at me as I rolled my eyes at him as he walked into the living room.

Mom leaned over toward me and stage whispered, "Meaning he has to finish wrapping it up." We heard a snort from the living room.

Dad laughed and excused himself from the kitchen so me and mom could get dinner ready.

1 hour later...

As soon as the timer for the stove went off and I was walking to the dining room to set the table, there was a knock on the front door.

"I'll get it!" I yelled. Then ran to the door and yanked it open.

Pete was standing at the door about to knock, again. He smiled at me and said, "Hey Roxie. Your dad around?"

I nodded and pointed toward the living room. "He's in there helping Ray wrap my presents." A snort came from the living room.

"Well happy birthday!" He said, grinning, before he walked off in the direction I pointed. I looked outside having a gut feeling something was going to happen. Whether good or bad I couldn't tell just yet. Seeing nothing wrong outside I closed the door and skipped into the kitchen, humming a random tune.

"I see someone's excited for their birthday dinner," Mom commented as I skipped over to her.

I smiled at her and said, "Mhm. You know I love your home made enchiladas. Besides I'm 15 and in one more year I'll be able to do a lot of stuff. I'll be able to shift, find my mate, and drive!" I giggled. "I really can't wait to drive. Do you think I'll be able to get a motorcycle when I get older?" I turned toward mom as I was asking her then stopped in my tracks, Mom was crying. "Mom? What's wrong? Did I say something wrong?" As soon as those words left my mouth, Dad was on the room comforting her.

"Honey, it's going to be okay. I promise, we are all safe....." He went silent, I guess he continued talking to her in the mate link.

I walked over and hugged my mom, not really knowing what to do. She pulled me in her arms and pulled me close. Dad moved his arm and held us both. He whispered, "Nothing will ever tear us apart." He squeezed us and slowly released is both. He looked at Mom, "Are you alright now, love?"

I looked at Mom hopeful, "I'm sorry I said something I shouldn't have said. I love you mom."

She smiled at us both then turned to me. "I'm fine now. I just can't believe you're getting so big." She pulled my close and hugged me tight. Letting me go, she turned to Dad. "I'm fine now. Sorry to worry you, babe." She hugged him and kissed him.

I turned away from them to finish the last preparation for dinner. I found Ray reaching a hand over to pick up a piece of chicken, I smiled at him and picked up the wooden spoon next to me and popped his hand before he could get a piece. "It's almost ready now go set the table, Mr. Impatient." I giggled at him.

He smiled at me and shrugged his shoulders saying, "Thought I would try and get a piece of chicken while no one was looking but I got caught so I guess I'll go set the table." He walked away with his hand sup in the air.

I heard laughter behind me and found mom and dad laughing at Ray and me. I smiled sheepishly back and put the spoon down. I turned to Pete, who was still standing in the doorway with a strange look on his face.

Without taking my eyes off him, I asked my Dad, "Can Pete have dinner with us?"

Pete's eyes widened and he opened his mouth for what I was sure was a protest. "I don't want to intrude on your family dinner."

My dad laughed and smiled, "Your not intruding on anything your more than welcome to stay for Roxie's birthday dinner." He walked over and put his hand on his shoulder to walk him to the dinner table.

I turned to Mom and rolled my eyes. "Shall we serve dinner?" I asked her.

She nodded and we started to serve my birthday dinner.
