Dipper waved goodbye to Pacifica, as he got back in his truck. She blew a kiss as he, and smiled as he backed up. He smiled then caught it before turning out of the driveway. "Lovable idiot.." She chuckled, as she walked back into the massive house.
As Dipper turned back to Main Street, he felt his pocket vibrate. "Man I can't get a break today." He sighed. He pulled out his phone, and saw who was calling. "Boss", it read. "Yessir." Dipper answered his usual way. "I need you at the routine work site son. Now." He said more sternly than usual.
"Gotcha. Be there in a couple minutes." Dipper said. But his boss didn't even say goodbye before he hung up. "Probably getting the hardest job as usual.." Dipper said stubbornly. The more Dipper drove, the more he thought about it.
His boss never usually called unless it was a workday. Did he do something wrong? Is it a secret job? Or does he just simply just want to settle down and have a cold one with Dipper? A million questions were likely hungry fish in his head.
"Maybe I did do something wrong.." Dipper said to himself. "But what? I've been working the hardest, and I haven't screwed up at all! Maybe he needs help with something. God! This is driving me crazy!" Dipper yelled at himself.
He drove farther down the main road, and saw his boss's truck sitting by one of the power box houses.Dipper parked by the blue ford, and looked around for his boss. He then saw a tall man with a black silky vest and a big white mustache walk out of the power house. And he didn't look happy. "You wanted to see me boss?" Dipper said questionably.
"Step in here son." He said, slightly angered. Dipper looked around curiously, then walked in. It was a small, shed like building. The only things in there were two chairs, and the giant fuse box. "Sit down." He ordered. Dipper knew he was in trouble now. The tall man then shut the door.
"What did I do?" Dipper asked. No reply. The tall man just stared at him, menacingly. "Okay, let's be adults now. This isn't grade school, don't stare at me like I'm a bad kid." Dipper finally said. He hates situations like this. It bores him, and he's also partially inpatient.
The boss sat beside him, and reached in his vest pocket. He pulled out 4 pictures taken from a video camera. He then threw them down on Dipper's lap. "What are these?" He asked. "Look at them." The boss said gruffly. Dipper picked them up, and closely looked at each one.
One was of he and Pacifica kissing while Dipper was working. Another was her walking away with him smiling at her. Another was them yelling at each other. And the last one, was her holding his hand up from when he cut it. Dipper was speechless. "How did you-
"The security camera caught you two googoo eyeing each other when you were working on the tower two days ago. Care to explain?" The boss said angrily and stood up. "Sir, this is a misunderstanding. She came and brought me food and-
"And she interrupted you during your work time. My... Work time. And last I recall... You said you barely remember a thing about her. You don't think I see what's going on? Being late to work? Throwing up from booze? Barely focusing? Because it seems to me like you've been a little too busy with this girl.." He said and placed his hands on the arm rests of Dipper's chair.
Dipper didn't know what to say. "With all do respect boss, but this is for one, an invasion of privacy. And two, my personal life is my own business." Dipper said in defense. "DURING YOUR TIME AT WORK!!" The boss screamed.
"You listen to me son, and you listen good!" He spoke again. He picked up the pictures of he and Pacifica. He the held the top right and left corners of them. "If you don't drop this whole charade with this girl.." He stopped. He then ripped all the pictures in half. "I will fire you faster than you scratch your shaggy chin. This is your last chance boy.." The boss said, then stood back up straight.
He opened the door, about to leave. "I like you Dipper... You're a hard worker. But don't think I won't fire you.." He said sternly. Then, he slammed the door. Dipper sat in his chair. In nothing but shock. He just stares forward, not knowing what to do or say.
__________________________"AHA! Full house!" Ford yelled, as e slammed his cards on the table. He laughed at the sound of Mabel and Stan's defeat. "How!! You've gotten a full house for the third round now!!!" Stan said angrily. "Pay up losers!" Ford laughed.
After the two loser pushed their coins toward Ford, the heard the door fly open. "Dipper? That you boy?" Ford asked. No answer. Then, they saw Dipper walk through the dining room, and passed the table with half closed eyes. "Someone sure is quiet this evening." Mabel chuckled.
"Yeah." Dipper said, then continued to walk to his room. "Man, what's up his, today.." Stan said jokingly. Mabel hit his shoulder softly. "You okay Dipper?" Mabel turned and quietly yelled towards the hallway. He didn't answer, all she heard was his door shut.
"Is something wrong with the boy?" Ford asked. His twin, and Mabel both shrugged their shoulders. "How about you to talk to him Stan." Mabel then suggested. "What! Why me? I'm not good with sad people!... Only people with full pockets." He then added.
"You were my first choice. Besides, Ford is counting his loot and I need to go check... Something.." She lied. "Uggghhhh fine!" Stan whined. He got up, and walked down passed Soos's "break room". He saw Dipper's door closed with the light shining through the cracks.
"Hey kid... You alright?" He heard Stan say through the door. He just rolled over in the covers. "Cmon Dipper. You're an adult. You can always talk to your Grunkle Stan. Don't be that scared 12 year old.." Stan finally came out and said.
Defeated, Dipper got out of bed and opened the door. "What's wrong kid.." Stan asked with a sad face. Which he faked, because he didn't even care. "You wouldn't care." Dipper said. Stan was shocked to hear the kind hearted boy say that.
"Try me." Stan said, kind of offended. Dipper kind of felt bad how he talked to Stan. "Don't worry about it. Everything is fine." Dipper said, about to close the door. But Stan stopped it with his palm. "All your life you've had no one to complain to. But now that you have people that will listen, you're just gonna shut them out?" Stan said, aggravated.
"You wouldn't understand." Dipper said then turned back to his room. "You're acting like a teenager. Just tell me kid." Stan said, now annoyed. "I said everything is fine!" Dipper got louder. "If everything was fine you wouldn't need to shut me out!" Stan then got louder.
"Maybe I just want to keep it to myself for once!!" Dipper yelled. "Show some respect!! I'm letting stay at this house while you're on business!! And this is how you're gonna repay me!!" Stan yelled. "You offered!! I didn't ask!!" Dipper yelled back.
"If you're gonna be that way then JUST LEAVE!!" Stan yelled. Dipper got quiet. So did Stan. He let go of the door, and walked back to the kitchen. Dipper stood in shock. He once again didn't know what to do. He knew what he said was wrong.. He just didn't want to believe it. He quietly shut the door, then jumped back on the bed.
