Part three

"Why are we at the park?"

"It's the first lesson, control."

"Control?"

"Yes. First you have to learn not to bite every sack of blood you see."

"Oh, right."

"Choose."

"Choose what?"

"A person."

"Why?"

"Just choose. Make sure it's good."

"How do I know it's good?"

"You'll know. Let's walk while you choose."

So they walked and all Siara could smell was blood, but it didn't smell how you would think, it smelled like your favorite ice cream or chocolate, but a thousand times better, it smelled delicious.

Siara looked at everyone she passed, until she saw someone she knew. "Oh no. I know him."

"Which one?"

"Him, the one who smells like chocolate covered strawberries." She thought it was weird she could smell him that well, especially since he was across the park.

"Oh. Yes he smells delicious. Let's go." He started to walk towards him.

"Wait." She said as she very forcefully pulled him back.

"What?"

"I can't bite him. Then he'll be like us."

"First, you won't be biting him. Second, he would only be like us if you released the venom when you bite him. This lesson is control. He smells delicious right?"

"Yeah so?"

"So he will smell better when you are closer. And you will want to bite him."

"I don't want to bite anyone."

"Just wait. You will."

"If I will, I don't want to be here, I'm leaving."

"No, after we are done with this lesson, you won't, but we have to stay and finish."

"OK. Fine." So they walked across the park to the guy she knew.

"Hi Brian."

"Oh hi Siara, who's that?"

"My name is Tyler." He said.

Siara looked at him, because at that moment she realized, she hadn't bothered to ask him his name, so that was the first time she heard it.

"Does Andy know about him?" Brian asked.

"Why would he be jealous?" Tyler asked.
