Twenty eight
Siara and Alexis went to class and waited for Brian. He came in with fries, and shared them with the girls, and the bell rang.
The teacher walked in and said "Today I want you to draw a wild animal."
Siara started to draw without even realizing it. Her hands moved without her trying. By the end of class, her picture was done without her really knowing what she drew.
She looked at it, and it was a wolf. It had black and grey fur, and pure black eyes.
She looked at it again and noticed something. On the wolf's front, right paw there was a ring. It was similar to Tyler's ring, but it was wider, and had a smaller stone.
She was confused about why she had drawn the ring, but she left it there. For some reason, it felt right.
"I drew a dolphin..." Brian said holding up his picture.
"I drew a white tiger." Alexis said, smiling at Siara. "What did you draw?" Siara was still staring at the ring. "Siara? What did you draw?"
"Huh? Oh. A wolf." She said showing them the picture.
"Oh cool." Brian said. "Wait what's that?" He said and pointed at the paw.
"Oh... It's a ring..."
"A ring?" Brian asked, confused.
"Yeah..."
"Ok..." Brian stopped talking, because he thought it was weird, but Siara seemed to like it.
They turned in their papers, and left.
Siara walked to class and sat with Hilary. They talked until the teacher came.
"Today we are filling out these maps, according to which areas were conquered by who." He said then passed out the maps.
They colored each section carefully, and labeled a key, stating which color represented who.
Before they knew it, class was over, and it was time to go pick up Kimmy.
Siara walked to the front of the school and met Tyler. She got in the car and they went and got Kimmy.
They went to the movies, and let Kimmy pick. They got popcorn, soda, and candy.
When the movie was over it was past six. They went to the arcade, and played games, then walked around from store to store, browsing.
They walked around for another hour and a half. Then they decided to go back home. Tyler drove the girls home, and left.
Siara and Kimmy had bought a few things, some nail polish, matching gold bracelets and, Siara bought some new gauges, for her ears. She bought every size up to Zero.
She had an idea. She went to the bathroom and took her earings, she put in the smallest size she had, and within seconds, they were completely healed. She kept sizing up. She went all the way to Zero in just a couple of minutes. Her ears were now gauged.
She went out and showed Kimmy, who winced at the idea.
"Did it hurt?" Kimmy asked.
"Yeah, but once it heals the pain goes away. So it hurt off and on."
"That's so weird.."
They watched TV until 9:45, because there was no school tomorrow. Then Kimmy went to bed and Siara went to her room. She sat on the bed playing with her ears, thinking about tomorrow.
She sat there and thought. She thought, and thought, and thought. Tomorrow is her seventeenth borthday. There were 17 of her new friends coming. Friends she never thought she would have.
She wondered how many people would actually show up. She wondered how many would bring presents. She wondered what presents she would get.
Then she started to doubt. She thought that maybe they wouldn't show up, or that they wouldn't bring presents, or that they would all show up, but someone would pull a prank.
She let her mind settle down. She told herself "Everything will be ok. Just don't stress."
She looked at her clock and it was already 3:00. She wasn't even the slightest bit tired.
She walked over to her dresser and picked up the book that was on it. She sat down and started to read. She had already read half the book, when she decided to read. She finished the book and it was sunny out. She looked at the clock and it was 8:17.
She decided she should get some rest, so she laid down and went to sleep.
"Siara! Wake up!" Kimmy was shaking her. "I said I'm leaving in an hour."
I thought you were leaving at 3:30?"
"I am."
Siara looked at her clock. 2:28. "Kimmy why didn't you wake me up?" She slept for over seven hours.
"You looked like you needed some sleep."
"Not this much." Siara said standing up.
She brushed her hair and teeth and made them each a sandwich.
"If you woke me up I could have made breakfast."
"It's ok. I made eggs."
"You did?" Siara said still trying to wake up.
"Yeah. I didn't know when you were going to wake up."
"Sorry Kimmy."
"It's fine. They were really yummy." Kimmy giggled.
They ate their sandwiches, then painted their nails. They both put on their bracelets.
By the time they finished, and their nails were dry, Kimmy just had time to grab her bags, and put on her shoes.
Siara took a shower to relax. She got out an hour later. She wrapped her towel around her and went to her room. She picked out the outfit she wanted to wear and laid it on her bed. Then she grabbed her make up bag, and put it next to her outfit, then got her bathing suit, and shoes, and laid it all out on the bed. She got her backpack out of her closet and put everything in it except for her outfit.
She got dressed and dried her hair. She slipped her shoes on, put her backpack on, and walked to Alexis's house.
She knocked and when Alexis's mom answered she said "She's in the shower, you can wait on the couch if you'd like."
"Ok. Thanks."
"Of course."
