Part six

Andy went to use the bathroom in the park building.

"He doesn't trust me..." Siara said sadly.

"He's just jealous."

"But there's nothing to be jealous of. You bit me and now you're teaching me. That's all." She paused. "Unless..." She had to know, "Is there any reason he should be jealous?" She compelled him.

"Maybe..." That's all he said.

"What?" Siara asked. Tyler didn't answer. "What is there to be jealous of Tyler?"

"I like you OK. You're the first one I've had anything in common with in 100 years."

"Forget this conversation..."

Andy came back. "Hey what are you doing over the break?" He asked looking at Siara.

"Um I don't have any real plans, except to catch up with Tyler..." Siara said, before she realized she probably shouldn't have.

"Well why don't we hang out tomorrow? Just me and you."

"Um well I'm kind of supposed to stay with-"

"She'll be there. I can drop her off wherever, if you would like." Tyler offered.

"No. I can do it myself." Andy snapped back.

"Would your parents be picking me up?" Siara asked.

"Yeah. Is that OK?"

"Where do you feel like going?" Siara asked.

"I was thinking we could go to the movies. I heard there was a new vampire movie."

Siara's heart skipped a beat.

"Is that okay?"

"Uh. Yeah. What time?"

"How about I pick you up at 6?"

She nodded. Her mind flashed back to when Tyler bit her. 6. Why is that such a special time? The time she was bit. The time she would have control. The time she was born...

Andy had to leave. So once again it was just Siara and Tyler. After watching the kids play, and talking to Andy, they didn't notice but it was already almost dark when Andy left.

"Your dad gets off around 6:00 right?" Tyler asked.

"Yeah. Why? Is it 6:00?"

"Almost. Let's go." They got in the car.

"What are you doing until your date tomorrow?" Tyler asked.

"Nothing. I only sleep half as much as I used to so I sleep from about 3 til 7. So I'm up early and all I do is watch TV. Why?"

"Do you want me to pick you up and we can practice speed and strength?"

"Sure."
