Part eight

Siara got ready. She put on an outfit she'd never worn before. Black skinny jeans, a dark purple, wool, long sleeve shirt, and a black leather jacket. She curled her hair. And she did her makeup. Blush, eyeliner, mascara, and a smokey purple eye-shadow.

She went in her room and looked in the body mirror on her door. She looked herself up and down. She realized that since she was turned, she looked better, she looked skinnier, and her arms didn't look so scrawny. She looked at her makeup.

She doesn't usually like to look at herself for very long, but for once she thought she looked beautiful. She stared at herself for a while. Then her stomach jumped up into her throat when the doorbell rang. She looked at her phone it was 6:10. She sprayed some perfume and opened the door.

It was Andy. He was facing away from the door. "Hey sorry I'm la-" He stopped. He looked at her. Like she was the hottest girl at a party "late. We stopped to get gas."

"It's only 6:10 you're not late. I just finished getting ready anyways."

"OK. Well are you ready to go?" He asked looking at her new outfit.

"Yeah."

"You look nice." He told her.

"Thank you." She said shyly. They got in the truck. "Hi Mr. and Mrs. Murphy." She said as she sat down.

"Hello Siara." His father said. His mother was silent. Siara wasn't her favorite person.

"How have you been lately?" She asked kindly.

"We've been good." Mr. Murphy said.

"I've been better." Mrs. Murphy snapped, glaring at Siara. "I heard your... Cousin is in town. Why didn't you tell Andy about him?"

"Mom." Andy said.

It was silent for the rest of the ride.

"Thanks for the ride Mr. and Mrs. Murphy."

"You're welcome." Mr. Murphy said. Andy closed the door and they went inside.

They got in line, and when it was their turn Andy said "Two tickets for Vamp bites please." Siara's heart skipped a beat.

They walked into the theater and sat in the top row, near the door. Andy put his arm around her shoulder. His sleeve was rubbing on her neck. Right where she was bit. She kind of flinched. She was tapping her foot the whole time.

Not only was the movie about vampires being bitten, but there were people snacking through the whole theater. She couldn't hear the movie over the wrappers crumpling or the popcorn crunching. It was all too much. It was over whelming.

After a while she got up and left the theater.

It took a minute before Andy came out after her. "You OK?" He asked her.

"No I uh- I have to go. I'm sorry. She hugged him and walked away. She went outside and got out her phone. She dialed a number and put it to her ear

"Hello?" She heard.

"Hey Tyler. It's me. Can you please come get me?" Her voice was shaky. She was about to cry.

"I'll be there soon." He replied without asking questions.

He drove up and parked. He turned off the engine. Siara got in. She just stared at the dash board.

"Hey, you OK? It's only 7 why did you need to be picked up so early?" Tyler asked trying to look at her face.

"I just couldn't handle it. He made us watch Vamp bites. I couldn't concentrate, all I could hear were wrappers crumpling and popcorn crunching. It was too over whelming." She rushed her words. Her voice was shaky. She was beginning to cry.

Tyler put his arm around her "Shh it's OK." He said trying to calm her down. He began to hug her from his seat and she hugged him back.

"Siara, earlier today, you didn't accidentally fall on me did you?"

"No..." She admitted.

"It's OK you can tell me."

"Tell you what? I just told it wasn't an accident."

"No, I mean you can tell me how you feel."

Siara looked up at him, into his eyes, she couldn't lie to him. "When I'm with you, I feel good. I feel alive. I feel free. I feel like I'm cared about, like I'm -" She paused "loved."

"You are." Tyler said grabbing her chin, he gently pulled her head towards him and kissed her.

She didn't pull away, not for a few seconds at least. But then she did. "I can't do this Tyler." She said with tears in her eyes. "I have a boyfriend. Andy loves me. I can't hurt him. I love him too." A tear rolled down. "I'm sorry... Can you please just take me home?"

"Of course." He started the engine.

Siara looked out the window and saw Andy. He was looking at the car, but all he saw was her get in. The windows were tinted, and it is too dark outside to see in.

They drove away and took her home.

When they got to her House, she stayed in the car for a bit, her dad was gone for the night at work. "I'm sorry..." She said with sorrow in her voice. She got out and went in.

Tyler stayed there for a minute. He was staring at the steering wheel. He wished they could be together. But they couldn't. And he hated that. But there was nothing he could do about it. So he drove away and went home.

That night he sat on his bed, alone and sad. He kept replaying the kiss in his head. 'Why. Why did I do that?' He thought 'Stupid. Stupid. Stupid' He was now hitting himself. But he stopped. His eyes were full of tears. "I love you." He said to the air.
