Part twenty
Siara was still angry from before. She went outside. She didn't tell them what she was doing. She just went out back and ran laps. She ran 25 laps. Then stopped. Then she spent 20 minutes punching the bag, even after it broke again.
She was sitting on top of it, punching down at it. She had to stop after a while, because her knuckles were bleeding. She sat and stared at them until they healed. And she went back to punching.
"OK. OK. Come here." Tyler said stopping her from punching, and picking her up. He hugged her tight. "It's OK. I'm right here." He said rubbing her head. "I love you." He whispered.
As soon as he said that, she calmed down. She fixed the punching bag again and let Kimmy and Alexis practice. Her and Tyler sat down and watched.
"I'm sorry." She said wiping the tears away that had formed while she was punching.
"Why are you apologizing?" Tyler asked.
"For all the mood swings, and just not being able to control my emotions. It's just, a lot has happened the last couple weeks. Especially today. This morning I found Kimmy's whole right tricep bruised because this boy picks on her. Then he lied to my face about it. Then we found Samantha. Then Mrs. Winchester."
"It's OK. It's not your fault. You should have seen me when I first changed. I lashed out. I broke everything I could get my hands on. I drank from anyone who walked past me. I was like one of those stereotypes from movies, and guys usually can control it easier than girls. You could have been so much worse. You were good."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Tyler."
"Yeah?"
"You felt my heart didn't you?"
"When?"
"When you said you love me. You felt it slow. You felt my breathing get longer and deeper. You felt me calm down. Didn't you?"
"Yes. I did."
"Did you know that would work? Or did you just say it?"
"Both."
"How did you know it would work?"
"I don't know how I knew, I just did."
Siara got closer to him. They all took turns training until around 4:30 when Alexis had to go home, Siara and Kimmy decided to go too, after Siara and Tyler shared another bag.
They went home and Siara made mashed potatoes, pork chops, and corn for dinner. It wasn't ready until about 6, but her dad still wasn't home. They were getting a little worried. But they figured he was just held up at work.
They ate with out him and left a plate on the stove. They decided to clean their rooms, for Siara that meant doing laundry and dusting.
By 7:30 he still wasn't home. Siara called him, but it went straight to voicemail. Now she was really worried. They sat on the couch for a while with the TV on. They didn't really pay attention though.
Around 9 Siara told Kimmy she had to go to sleep.
"I want to wait for dad."
"No Kimmy it's your bed time. At least lay down. I'll tell you when dad gets home. It'll be OK."
"But what if-"
"Kimmy it will be OK. Now go lay down. OK?"
"OK..." Kimmy went to her room.
Siara sat there for a while longer. She went to turn off the TV when she got a call. It was Mark. Her dads friend.
"Hello?" She said.
"Hey Siara, I was just calling to let you know that your dad is here at my house. He stopped at the bar after work and had a little too much to drink so I'm letting him sleep here tonight."
"OK. That's good to know. Thank you Mark."
"No problem. Goodnight."
"Goodnight." Siara turned the TV off and went and told Kimmy.
She went to her room and opened a pack of wall stickers. They were small stars and galaxies. She had a picture of space and put the stickers on her wall as accurate as possible. Her ceiling was a black color. Her walls were a dark purple. Her dad had it done over the weekend when she was at Alexis' house as an early birthday present.
Now her room looked like space. The stickers were even glow in the dark. She laid on her bed staring at her ceiling. She noticed there was a spot that looked blank. She knew there was a sticker that was supposed to be there. She got up and looked in the package, it was empty.
"Here it is." Tyler said. "It was on the floor."
"You scared me." She said walking to him. "Thanks." She said grabbing it.
She couldn't quite reach the spot. Tyler grabbed her and lifted her until she could. It startled her. She grabbed onto his shoulder with her free hand and put the stickers on the ceiling. Then she put her other hand on his other shoulder. He kept holding her for a little bit. Then they kissed, for a while.
He set her on the bed and kneeled on the floor in front of her. He stopped kissing her and looked at her, like he was waiting for something.
"I love you." Siara said. She knew what he was waiting for.
He smiled. "I love you too."
Siara yawned. "I'm gonna lay down. Wanna watch some TV with me?"
"Yeah." Tyler said smiling. They laid down. Tyler put his arm under her and they covered up with a blanket.
They watched TV and Siara fell asleep. Tyler listened to her heart as it slowly sped up. It wasn't her nightmare speed, but it was faster than normal.
She was dreaming, but not like the deaths she's seen the past nights, she was watching memories of her whole life. As long as she could remember.
She clenched Tyler's shirt. That was the moment when he bit her. That was always the worst memory, and the last one. She doesn't have her vampire memories in the same dream as her human memories.
She opened her eyes. Tyler was still there. It was almost four. He kissed her forehead.
"Are you leaving?" She asked.
"No. I'll wait until the morning."
"OK." She went back to sleep. Now she had her vampire memories.
