Jeon Jungkook, 20, was the epitome of high school charm. Tall, athletic, and confident, he dominated both on the sports field and in the hallways. As the school's sports captain, everyone knew his name, and everyone wanted his attention. Multiple relationships, casual flings, brief romances-Jungkook had done it all, yet none of them ever left a mark. To him, love was just another game.

Kim Taehyung, 19, was Jungkook's neighbor. They weren't best friends, not even close-but living side by side meant he saw Jungkook often enough. Taehyung was cute, sassy, a little crazy at times, and endlessly kind. He had a sharp tongue and a quicker mind, often catching people off guard with his wit. He had always thought of Jungkook as... well, just his neighbor, nothing more.

That was until he really noticed him.

The way Jungkook moved, the effortless charm in his smile, the confidence radiating from every step-it made Taehyung's heart skip. And suddenly, the boy who had been just "next door" became the center of his thoughts in a way he hadn't expected.

Taehyung didn't know how to handle it-especially since Jungkook, with his dominating presence and fearless personality, had no idea the storm he'd stirred in the quiet, sassy boy next door.

The morning sun spilled softly over the Jeon family porch as the doorbell rang. Mrs. Jeon wiped her hands on her apron and pulled open the door.

Standing there was Kim Taehyung, his wide, innocent smile lighting up the whole entryway. He tilted his head slightly, eyes sparkling as he chirped,

"Good morning, Mrs. Jeon! How are you today?"

Mrs. Jeon's stern face instantly melted into a smile. She had always liked Taehyung-such a polite, sweet boy. The kind of neighbor any mother would be grateful for. To her, he was soft-spoken, gentle, and almost angelic.

What she didn't know was how mischievous and sassy Taehyung could be behind that sweet smile. She only ever saw his best side-the side that made her want to pat his cheek and compare him to her own son.

In fact, she often did.

"If only Jungkook had half your manners, Taehyung-ah..." she sighed fondly, shaking her head. "Always polite, always smiling. You're like the son every mother dreams of."

Taehyung giggled, rubbing the back of his neck shyly, though his eyes sparkled with mischief she couldn't catch.

Behind them, Jungkook's voice groaned from inside the house.

"Mom, stop comparing me to him."

Mrs. Jeon rolled her eyes. "Then learn something from him!"

Taehyung's grin widened as he peeked over Mrs. Jeon's shoulder, catching sight of Jungkook-messy-haired, shirt half-buttoned, looking annoyed but unfairly handsome even in the morning haze.

And just like that, Taehyung's heart did a little flip he couldn't ignore.

Taehyung held up a neatly folded sweater in his arms, his smile widening.
"Mrs. Jeon, my mom told me to give this to you. She finished knitting it yesterday. She said it would look really pretty on you-you can see, it's just your size!"

Mrs. Jeon's eyes softened, touched by the gesture. She took the sweater carefully, running her hands over the neat stitches.
"Aigoo... so nice. See? This is what I was talking about," she said, looking at Taehyung with motherly pride. "Always thoughtful, always caring. You're such a sweet boy, Taehyung-ah."

Taehyung's lips curled into a satisfied grin, a hint of playful pride flickering in his eyes. He rocked on his heels before glancing past her shoulder, his tone casual but expectant.
