It had been a year since that night-the night when everything changed, when Jungkook's playful teasing and Taehyung's dramatic protests melted into something real. Now, the high school days were behind them, exams over, and a new chapter already waiting.

The sky outside was dark and clear, the stars scattered like diamonds. Jungkook sat in his family's living room, his hands resting on his knees, nervous yet determined. Beside him, Taehyung sat quietly, his fingers laced with Jungkook's under the table, giving him silent strength.

Across from them, Jungkook's mother's face was glowing with joy, her eyes soft as she looked between the two boys.

Jungkook (clearing his throat, steady but shy):
"Mom... I want to marry him. After our last exam, I told you... I'm not joking. I love him. He's the one."

Taehyung's cheeks flushed red, his lashes lowering as he tried to hide the small, embarrassed smile tugging at his lips.

Jungkook's mother clasped her hands together, her expression one of pure happiness.
Mom (gentle, full of warmth):
"Ah, Jungkookie... I always dreamed of having a son-in-law like Taehyung. But who knew it would really come true? My son fell in love with him himself."

She leaned forward, taking Taehyung's hands into hers, squeezing them softly.
Mom (smiling at him):
"You've always been like family to me already, Taehyung. Now it's just official."

Taehyung blinked rapidly, his heart stuttering at the acceptance shining in her eyes. He bowed his head politely, his voice soft and trembling.
Taehyung:
"Thank you... I'll do my best. I'll make Jungkook happy."

Jungkook turned to him instantly, squeezing his hand tighter.
Jungkook (firm, emotional):
"Yah. Don't say it like it's only your job. We'll make each other happy. Together."

Taehyung glanced at him, and for a second, that familiar sass sparked in his eyes.
Taehyung (pouting lightly):
"Idiot... always so dramatic."

But his smile betrayed him.

Jungkook's mother clapped her hands together with delight, her voice breaking the tender moment.
Mom:
"Then it's decided. You two will marry. My Jungkook and my Taehyung... the most beautiful couple."

Jungkook leaned close to Taehyung, whispering against his ear, his voice soft and teasing.
Jungkook:
"See? Even Mom agrees you're stuck with me forever now."

Taehyung rolled his eyes, but his heart was beating too fast to argue. He whispered back, his lips curving into a shy smile.
Taehyung:
"...Forever doesn't sound so bad."

Jungkook's mother reached forward, gently patting Taehyung's hand as if he were already her own son.

Mom (soft but reassuring):
"Don't worry, Taehyung-ah. Me and Jungkook's father will go talk to your parents. We'll explain everything, and we'll make sure they understand how much you mean to Jungkookie-and to us."

Taehyung's throat tightened, his eyes flickering down to his lap. A small lump rose as he thought about his parents, about how they might react. For so long, he'd dreamed of love, but he never expected it to come with this kind of acceptance.

Jungkook immediately noticed the way Taehyung's fingers trembled and squeezed his hand under the table.
Jungkook (firm, protective):
"Mom's right. I'll handle it. Even if they say no, I'm not letting go of you, Taehyung. Never."

Taehyung blinked quickly, his lips parting in shock at Jungkook's unwavering tone. His chest warmed, and a small pout formed despite the tears threatening to prick his eyes.
Taehyung (muttering softly):
"You always say things that make it impossible for me to stay mad at you..."
