chapter 1

Layla and Sonia are both at Laylas house. Laylas mom is out of town so both girls thought it was a good time to check if there was any clues about Laylas real parents.

They went into her mothers room first.

"Lay where does your mom keep her secret things?" Sonia asked looking in a drawer

"How am I supposed to know, they're secret for a reason"layla responded

"You telling me you never look in your moms stuff"

"No why do you"

"Maybe" Sonia giggled and then saw something that caught her eye. It was a folder.

"Hey come here think this might have a clue" Sonia said

"Kay" Layla replied while on her phone texting. Sonia turned around so she was facing Layla.

"Get your arse over her Lay, think we found something" Sonia said with a little pout. Layla smiled and walked over.

"What is it? " Sonia opened the folder and pulled out a piece of paper infront of her reading it. Her eyes went wide and and looked at Layla who had a confused look.

She grabbed the piece of paper and saw her birth certificate. She read it and her eyes went wide.

It read Layla Tweedy the daughter of Cheryl Tweedy and Tre Holloway.

"Its got to be a fake" Layla said sighing and staring at the paper.

"Why would it be fake. I cant believe it, your a famous persons daughter. I should've known I mean look at your dimples and your brown eyes." Sonia said getting the piece of paper.

"Dont get your hopes up Sonia" Layla sighed

Sonia rolled her eyes.

"What else is in the folder" Sonia pulled out a photo. It was Cheryl and Tre and a baby that was Layla.

"Believe it now?" Sonia said

"Kinda but how come no one knows that she had a child. I mean no one knows." Layla said to Sonia who was looking at the picture.

They heard the front door open downstairs and both the girls quickly put everything back to where it was and ran to Laylas room that was across the hallway.

After dinner Sonia left and Layla helped her mother tidy up the kitchen. She only lived with her mom and older brother. He was 17 and was like a normal brother, annoying but protective.

"Im going to bed" Layla said

"Its only 8" Laylas mom replied

"I know but im tired" she lied she just wanted to think about what she found out a couple hours ago.

It was midnight and yet Layla was awake. She had to much on her mind to sleep.

She wanted to see what else was in the folder. She saw a paper earlier bit didnt see it as her mother came home.

She got up of her bed trying her best to stay quiet. She tripped over her shoes and landed on her hands and knees 'why is it when I try to be quiet im loud' she thought to herself. She made her way to her moms room.

She listened to see if her mom was awake. She heard her mom steadily breathing and opened the door to see her fast asleep. Her back was turned to Layla.

Layla went straight to the drawer and opened it pulling out the folder. She then closed the drawer and went back to her room.

She switched on the light and sat on her bed. She opened the folder and took out the piece of paper. It was an address. She saw it was somewhere in London and thought it must be Cheryls. She turned the piece of paper around and saw Cheryls name.

She took out her phone and text Sonia.

She then kept the piece of paper and put it in her bag and looked in the folder once again. She found a letter.

She heard her mom get out of her room and go downstairs. She quickly put the letter in her bag and took the folder back.

She got back in her room, switched of her light and got in bed.
