chapter 13

Jacob entered the hospital and went over to the desk. He asked for Layla and the receptionist guided him to her room.

He got there and Cheryl and Tre were sitting outside the room. They werent allowed in yet. Cheryl had red eyes and still was crying, and Tre was comforting her.

"Babes stop crying its not good for the baby" Tre said but Cheryl continued to cry.

"She was hurt Tre... really badly" Cheryl cried and Tre comforted her.

"Who did it?" Tre asked as Jacob took a seat next to them.

"It waa Katy's older brother, Katy and Layla never used to get on, and I saw Kyle her older brother kicking Layla so... I punched him and he left and Layla was already unconscious" Jacob replied getting a bit emotional as he saw how badly hurt Layla was.

Cheryl started crying even more.

"How old is he" Tre asked.

"22" Jacob replied and both Cheryl and Tre went wide eyed.

"He was 22, where does he live" Tre began to get vexed.

"Tre calm down"Cheryl said knowing Tre wanted to know where he lived so he could go and beat him up.

"He was 22, how dare he hurt my daughter he should be in prison" Tre couldnt control his anger.

Suddenly the doctor walked out the room and all three shot up. They had been waiting for an hour and a half

"How is she" Cheryl spoke eager to know if her daughter was okay.

"Well her right arm and left leg are both in casts shes fractured her wrist and luckily her ribs are fine just really badly bruised and cut and shes also got bruises and cuts on her leg, arm and stomach, and she hurt her head so we just need to do a few tests, you can go and see her shes asleep at the moment, she needs her rest, escuse me" and with that the doctor left.

Cheryl Tre and Jacob went into the room. Layla was asleep and had a bandage on her head and cuts on her face. Cheryl gave her a kiss on the cheek aswell as Tre and sat down on the seat next to the bed.

Layla started stirring and then slowly opened her eyes. Cheryl squeezed her hand and Jacob went to get the doctor.

"Baby how are you feeling" Cheryl asked as she hugged Layla.

"Mam... im scared" Layla said.

"Dont be princess me and your mum are here and we'll protect you okay" Tre said giving her a hug and a kiss.

Jacob walked in with the doctor. He shone a light in Laylas eyes and pressed something on the machines that had had a tube that went into Laylas wrist.

He soon left and Jacob went over to Layla who smiled. He gave her a hug.

"Thank you" Layla whispered

Jacob nodded and smiled and gave her a kiss and then sat back on his seat.

Cheryl sat on the bed next to Layla.

"Mam I want to go home" Layla said. She never liked hospitals she'd always been afraid of them and doctors.

"Babes they need to do a few tests and then im sure you'll be allowed home" cheryl said putting her arms around Layla and comforting her.

"Do you want me to go ask the doctor for you" Tre asked and Layla nodded still in Cheryls arms.

The doctor came in before Tre got out the room.

"Im sorry visiting hours are up, one of you are allowed to stay with her" the doctor said. They agreed that Cheryl would stay.

"I'll go home and get a few stuff and drop them here for you" Tre said kissing Cheryl goodbye and then leaning down and giving Layla a kiss. Jacob also said bye and thet both went.

It was now eight o clock and the doctors had finished her tests.

They had also moved her to another room with a TV and another bed for Cheryl.

"Can I go home now" Layla asked desperately wanting to get out of the hospital.

"Im afraid not, you have to stay a couple of days so we can monitor you and also you need to rest" the doctod replied and left.

"Babes are you hungry" Cheryl asked

Layla shook her head.

"You havent had anything since breakfast though" Cheryl frowned.

"Im not hungry" Layla said putting the TV on.

"Atleast have some water" Cheryl gave her a bottle of water.

Cheryl sat on the bed with Layla. She felt really emotional seeing her daughter in this condition. Cheryls tears rolled down her cheeks and Layla noticed.

"Mam are you okay?" Layla asked.

"Im sorry" Cheryl said pulling Layla carefully into a hug sob she didnt hurt her.

"What for?" Layla asked as she rested on her mothers shoulder.

"I shouldn't of let you go on your own im a bad mother" Cheryl cried.

"No your not, your the best mam in the world and I love you more than words can say and it wasnt your fault at all" Layla said pulling away and wiping Cheryls tears. Cheryl smiled at her daughters cuteness and Layla lay in her mothers arms.

"I love you very much too" Cheryl said and kissed the top of Laylas head.

Layla fell asleep in Cheryls arms whole Cheryl still held her and watched TV.

The nurse came in to put some cream on Laylas cuts.

She had some on her arms and legs and on her stomach.

Cheryl couldnt believe how much bruises were on Laylas stomach where Kyle had kicked her. She felt angry at Kyle.

Her phone rang and she saw Tres name flash on the screen.

"Hey babe, hows Layla doing?" Tre asked.

"Shes sleeping, the nurses just came in to put some cream on Laylas cuts and shes got a lot of bruises on her stomach and they look really painful" Cheryl said with a tear rolling down her cheek. She couldn't stand seeing Layla like this.

"Lucky Layla was asleep else she wouldn't let the nurse put cream on her cuts, shes quite touchy and we had a word with the police and there looking for Kyle and they said he would be put in jail if his found guilty" Tre said.

"I know bless her she hasnt talked much today she must be really tired, I couldnt get her to eat anything, she only had some water" Cheryl said as she yawned.

"Aah babes you tired? You should get some sleep and I'll come in the morning" Tre said.

"Okay love you bye"

"Love you too bye" Tre hung up and Cheryl lay Layla down and made sure she was comfortable then went to her own bed and fell asleep.
