“So…Do you have any family?” I asked, looking over at him.

He nodded his head and clasped his hands behind him. We were walking that night down one of the halls under deck, together. Playing twenty questions…

“Three brothers and two sisters. All are out on the sea like I am. One got over taken by another ship and we don’t know where he is now.” He shook his head, “Filthy Caribbean’s…”

“Oh…I’m sorry…” I aopligized but remembered something.

“Two…Sisters…?” I had only seen one, Lana.

“Yes, Lana is my elder by five years and I have one other sister.” He chuckled, “You haven’t met her yet have you?” He asked.

“No, I haven’t. How old is she?”

“Well, she definitely is a workout! She’s twelve and acts like my elder! I was forced to take her on my ship when my parents died. They couldn’t find any of my brothers. But I love her and I couldn’t live without her.”

I smiled sadly. This had me thinking about Kelsey…

“Rosalina Doesn’t like her though. She says that she gets one her nerves.” He laughed and we turned down another corner, “I think she just hates kids.”

“What’s her name?”

“Maria. But we call her Mama Sweeny, because she’s so bossy!”

“I would like to see her!” I asked and he placed a hand on my lower back.

“Well, that’s where we were going…”

We turned down one more hall and I started to wonder just how big this ship was! To have a million halls and turns under the deck!

We stopped at a door and I heard sweet violin music coming from the cracks.

“That’s her?” I whispered and he nodded, softly opening the door.

A young girl sat on her bed, her room dimly lit by candles and lanterns.

All thoughts of Kelsey slipped away when I saw this girl.

Her silky black hair spilt over her shoulder as she played the violin.

She was one of the girls I saw in on the cruise ship when I found the pirates, but I thought she was one of the people on there.

She was wearing the same type of clothes I had been seeing lately, and her fingers were fine and delicate.

She didn’t look up when we opened the door, so that must have meant that she didn’t know we were there.

Her whole body almost shook with emotion as she played and finally she finished.

Slowly looking up she screamed.

“Kain! Idiota! What did I tell you about barging into my room without me knowing?” She spotted me.

“And you brought another girl to pick on me?” Her voice was sad.

“Oh! I’m not going to pick on you!” I laughed, “This Nitwit over here just kidnapped me for no reason,” I jabbed my thumb in his direction, “and now I’m stuck here with him as he tries to teach me how to be a pirate.”

She laughed and straightened up, “I like you!”

I walked over and sat down next to her, “I’m Nyra!”

I stuck my hand out to her and she grasped it tightly, “I can tell we are going to be good friends!” She hugged me suddenly and then let go quickly.

She turned to Kain and frowned, “Dejanos en Paz! Leave us alone! I want you to go away so that I can be with my new best friend!”

He placed his hands up in defeat and backed away slowly, “OK. OK. Mama Sweeny, But I get her when you’re done.” He bargained.

“Hey! I’m not a piece of meat!” I tried to argue but she shushed me, “Yes you are!”

She turned back to him, “Go!”

He kissed her forehead and left, closing the door behind him.

She turned back to me happily.

“Now,”

She grabbed my hand, and made me stand up.

I was confused, and she could tell.

She walked to her small closet and pulled out two swords.

“Now, time for a real lesson in Espada Lucha, sword fighting!”

She threw me a sword.

“Now I teach you how to be a real pirate…”
