Sirens…

VOTE!

I looked over the edge cautiously and caught a glimpse of something shimmering in the crystal waters.

A face.

“Okay, Nyra…”I took a deep breath, “Stay calm.”

I tried to take deep breaths, but ended up screaming.

I let out one loud and long scream and it seemed to help me relax more than breathing.

The ship gave a lurch and I tumbled over my feet.

I looked to see Kain leaning against the wheel, murmuring to himself.

“The fool…” I forced myself to stand up and ran up to the stairs when something knocked me over.

I hit the ground firmly and turned over just in time to see and tail slithering over the railing.

“Oh my…”

I crawled up painfully and sat up.

“Kain!” I yelled, trying to wake the pirate up. “KAIN!”

“Not now Nyra…I’m in loooooove!” He giggled and started dancing.

“You idiot!”

I stood up shakily and crawled up the steps.

I hit him with my hip and he fell to the ground; he didn’t notice though.

I grabbed hold of the wheel and it instantly gave a jerk.

I stumbled, but didn’t let go of it.

I straightened the ship out and took my sword out, locking it in place by slamming it into the wood through one of the wheel holes.

I gave a little sway, but straightened fully, instantly.

Kain grabbed my ankle and I looked down; He was kissing it.

“Kain!” I kicked him in the face and he gave a sort of yell.

Then the music hit my ears. The soft melodies and unknown hymns of the water tyrants made Kain sway.

They broke out into full singing.

Kain sighed.

I walked over to him and grabbed him by the collar, “Kain! Kain! Kain, wake up! Wake up now, you idiot!”

I slapped him and he grabbed my face, planting a kiss on my lips.

I was about to kiss back when a scream erupted from my side.

Rosaline was screaming at the sight of things, fainting a second later.

“When did she come up deck?” I whispered to myself, wondering if she saw the kiss.

“Oh Baby!” Kain called out.

I looked over to him to see a water beauty touching him in places.

“Hey! Back off!” I kicked her and she let out a harmonious scream, my foot instantly going straight through her watery form.

I grasped a hold of Kain’s shirt and began to pull the heavy man down the stairs.

When I got to the bottom I saw: 1. A Bunch of men running around the ship singing and sighing, 2. A Fainted woman on the deck, and 3. Water shimmers on board every three seconds.

I untied a piece of long rope that was hanging uselessly on a mast and dragged it and Kain to a pole in the middle of the ship.

I had to think fast.
