Chapter Thirty-Eight: You're Finally Free

I sighed. And snuggled into Mason's chest some more while he was rubbing my back.

"What's wrong baby?" He asked while looking at me with a frown.

"We graduate in two days." I said sadly, and I gripped his shirt.

"I know, but think about us okay? Think about us going to Auburn together." He said while looking at me and pecking my lips.

We currently are laying on Mason's bed, and just cuddling. And talking about our plans after graduation practice tomorrow.

We then heard a knock on the door, and Amber walked in and had a huge smile on her face.

"What is it mom?" Mason asked while gripping my waist a little tighter. But not enough for it to hurt.

"It's about your anti depressants, you don't have to take them anymore. Mason, the doctor just called me, he said you can stop taking the pills, and all because that therapist you see every two weeks sent a "free to go" paper to the doctor, and that's when he told me to make you stop taking the pills. And just to make sure, I called the therapist myself and he confirmed. So you're free to go. No more medicine!" She cheered happily while smirking then walking out of the bedroom.

"You're finally free." I said to him, while smirking at him.

"I am." He said while looking at me with watery eyes.

"Awh Mase, hey don't cry." I cooed while kissing both of his wet, salty, cheeks.

"I just want to say thank you." He said while pulling into his arms and kissing my neck then looking back into my eyes, and smiled.

"What why?" I asked.

"For being there for me, for being my number one fan during football seasons, for being my date for every dance, for being adorable when you get jealous, for sticking with me even though I'm a pain in the butt sometimes, for being such a great listener, thank you for helping me get through my depression throughout the year, I know it must of been hard to watch me almost kill myself, shit, it must of killed you -." He cut himself off and reached on his nightstand. Then opened the small drawer.

I sat up, and then looked at him curiosity is filling my mind. What the hell is he doing!?

Then he took out a small dark brown box, my hand went over my mouth. Oh my gosh, he's proposing to me!

"M-Mason?" I asked my eyes getting watery and I was looking at him.

"This is not an engagement ring, we aren't ready for that." He said while opening the box and taking out the infinity ring and holding it in between his thumb and index finger. Then continued.

"Peyton Elizabeth Marshall, I have loved you for so long, that it feels like we've been together throughout our whole lives. And I'm looking forward to spending these next four years with you, as we continue on a new chapter in our lives together." He paused while wiping his eyes with his free hand.

"This ring, is a promise that is worth more than the promises that I have made to you before. This is my promise to you, that I will always love you. That you are mine and I am yours, Peyton, you don't even know what it feels like when I'm around girls, it's sad because they aren't all like you. Special." He paused to catch his breath.

Tears are just streaming down my face right now. I'm too busy starting at my boyfriend with such awe, to stop them from coming down my face.

"I love you so much Peyton, and I can't even think about seeing myself with someone else, because you're my own definition of perfect. Whenever you fall asleep in my arms, I just like to admire you, and wonder how I got so damn lucky to have you in my life." He croaked while crying harder now. Guess I'm not the only one.

"So Peyton, would you accept this promise ring? And promise to be mine forever?" He asked with wide watery eyes.

"Y-Yes." I croaked.

He smiled then placed the ring on my ring finger, and kissed it. Then kissed me on the lips.

"Oh my gosh! It's so pretty." Nikki said the day after.

We currently are at graduation practice, wellt it's over, and Mason went to get our class shirts and talk to a couple of his buddies. Then he'll meet me here and take me home.

"Thank you." I smiled at her.

Then a car honked, once it pulled up in front of us.

"That's my ride, see ya tomorrow." Nikki said while waving at me then getting in the big truck.

I then felt arms being wrapped around me from behind.

"So, lemme see the rock." Colby said while pulling away and I turned around to face her.

I then showed it to her. She looked happy and then pulled me into another Colby hug.

"Wow, Colby we're graduating tomorrow." I said with a frown on my face.

"Nope you're not crying on me." She said seriously while pointing a finger at me.

Then our boyfriends joined us. And Mason handed me my shirt.

"You ready to grab some lunch beautiful?" Mason asked while wrapping his arm around my waist and kissed my temple.

"Yep! I'm so hungry." I frowned then we both started to walk to Mason's mustang, which is parked somewhat in the front.

"You nervous about tomorrow babe?" He asked once we both got in and he started the engine.

"Very." I said while he gripped my hand and kissed our joined hands, then he let go to fasten his seatbelt and I fastened mine.

"Don't be, I'll be there." He chuckled while pulling out of the parking spot and then started to drive out of the school parking lot.

Tomorrow, Mason and I graduate. And tomorrow starts the rest of my life.

"Here let's take a picture." Colby said while our families were talking to each other.

We took one of both of us hugging each other's waists while smiling at the camera. And it was on both of our phones.

Then Ryan took one of Mason and I off both of our phones and it was of us kissing each other while holding up our caps that were blocking our faces from the camera.

Then Ryan took one off of my dad's phone and my phone of me and my dad. My dad had a hand around my waist while we both were smiling into the camera.

Then Meghan wanted to take one off of her phone standing in between Mason and I. And we both wrapped one arm around her waist and smiled into her phone camera.

Then my dad took one off of Ryan's phone, and he had his arm around my waist and he also was wearing my graduation cap. And we both smiled into the camera.

I drove Mason here, so we said goodbyes to our family. And then Colby hugged me and told me she'll meet at Greyson's graduation party tonight.

"Cheers to the rest of our lives." Mason said while wrapping his arms around my waist and kissing me on the lips.

"Cheers." I said once we broke apart and pecked his lips.

And that ladies and gentlemen, is my story on how I, Peyton Elizabeth Marshall, saved my boyfriend's life, from committing suicide.
