Chapter Seven: Sleepover With a Weirdo

"Ugh hurry the hell up Colby it's going to rain." I whined while waiting for my slow ass friend.
I just really want to get inside my house and order some Chinese food already. But because of some people, I can't complete that goal.

I love getting that chicken. Damn that is the bomb. Oh and egg rolls. Always egg rolls.

Colby finally ran up to my front porch, with her monogrammed duffle bag. I then opened my door and went inside with Colby on my heels.

"Is Ryan here?" Colby asked while putting her bag on the couch.
I then took out my cellphone and dialed the Chinese place.

While rolling my eyes. Colby has a thing for my brother. Who just so happens to have a girlfriend.

Thankfully he's at her house now. Cassidy. That's her name. She's on the dance team at school and a junior as well as he is.

"That's so sad!!!" I said spitting out some of my delicious egg roll that I was eating.
Colby was too busy wiping her eyes. While eating her chicken loi mein from the container.

Marley and Me is seriously the saddest movie on earth. We just watched the scene with Marley dying.

A dog died. Come on. Now it makes me want to hug and kiss my husky Stark. Thank foodness that he's a healthy old boy.

I don't know if I could live without my loyal best friend. He sleeps in Ryan's room. But sometimes mine. If Ryan is at a sleepover.

My dad adores him. Shit he spoils him rotten for crying out loud. He's got two dog beds. One in Ryan's room and one in the kitchen.

Stark was really sad when my mom died. She lost her fight with Leukemia, with her death.

I mean Stark and my mom were close buds back then. She was the one who saved him when he was a puppy.

She found him when she was leaving work he was all alone and afraid. So she took him home and he's been ours since. And she knew that my dad is a dog lover.

"I know right! Can they get like sued for being so cruel!! By making a sweet loyal dog die!" She squealed then took a sip from her coke in a red solo cup. We haven't done dishes yet.

Then the door opened, and Ryan walked in with Stark. Then shut the door.

And Colby almost fainted. No big deal. She's Ryan crazy.

"Oh hey Colby. Hey has dad come home yet?" Ryan asked while sitting on the floor facing us and Stark laid down next to Ryan putting his old head on Ryan's lap.
My guess is that they just went to the dog park.

Colby was awkwardly trying to avoid eye contact with Ryan. I mean, he already knows.

She kind of makes it obvious. But like I said before, he has a girlfriend.

"I-I'm g-going to the bathroom. Kithen. Bathroom. Yeah." Colby said while standing up and walking upstairs to the bathroom/kitchen.
Ryan just chuckled. While giving Stark some attention.

See? They love each other. I sometimes feel left out whenever they have a special bond moment.

Seriously what does she see in Ryan that she doesn't see in Sean?

"Sleepover with a weirdo." Ryan said with another chuckle. "That sounds about good." He said standing up. And Stark then got on the couch in Colby's spot.
And I couldn't help myself but to rub his tummy.

He's just so cute! Ryan went into the kitchen. He then came back with a pink vitamin water bottle.

My phone was ringing and it was sitting on the couch. Ryan handed me my phone once he sat down right next to it.

I smiled at the screen name. It was Mason. Wonder what he wants. He knows that Colby is sleeping over at my house.

"Hello?" I asked him. In my amazing british accent.
No lie. I seriously have an amazing accent. Literally. I'm not related to anyone british.

So I'm not really sure how I got it. And I only watched one british movie throughout my whole life.

"Sean is sleeping over at my place, and he is in love with Colby. He even got committed to Yale for football." He said matter of factly.
Really? I wasn't sure that they were committing athletes this early in the school year.

It's only the middle of September. And homecoming is next month. Also Halloween.

Two of the many events and holidays that I love to spend with Mason. I mean they're already selling Halloween stuff.

It's like after the school stuff sales, there are Halloween sales. I should know this.

I work at Target with Alex.

Jk, but I work at Target. I work in the clothing section.

"Really? But how?" I ask while twirling my ponytail.
I do this all the time. Whenever I am on the phone talking to someone.

My dad thinks it's some weird habit of mine that's just normal for a normal teenage girl.

Thanks for thinking I'm normal dad. Although it's so overrated to be honest here.

"He got an email from Yale. Well, coach did and coach told Sean. Scouts are watching him play though this coming up game." He said sounding like a smart person.
Which he kind of is. I should know, I tutor him. He's got straight Bs though. So that's a good thing.

I looked up the staircase then at my brother who was smiling while texting at the same time.

He's probably texting Cassidy. Colby really needs to let Ryan go. He will never like her that way.

"That's cool. Hey babe I'll text you later love you." I said smiling.
I love saying that word. Love. It's just so perfect coming from me to Mason. Like a song.

I heard Sean in the background complaining that there's no more pickles.

He needs help. Badly. And Colby can be his doctor. Simple.

"Alright love you too beautiful." He said then I hanged up.
Mason usually doesn't hang up because he loves my voice so much.

I still don't get why he is in love with me. Oh well, I'll ask him sometime. Right now, I have to tell Colby about Sean and Yale.
