Chapter Thirty-Four: Alright Your Highness

"Ugh, I can't believe prom is around the corner." Colby said.

"I know. And this will be a badass star as the centerpiece." I said while sprinkling golden glitter all over the huge thing.

"Yeah, oh which reminds me, is Greyson going to hang it up when you're finished?" She asked.

"Yep, he had to make up a test but he'll come by after he's finished." I said while flashing her a smile.

Colby got put as the head of the prom committee. Which is pretty shocking to her but not so much me. I mean, Colby can handle it like it's no big deal. So I really don't get why on earth she would be surprised to get assigned something that half of our class already knows that she could do.

"That's good. Okay and when you're done I need you to work on crowns with Carter." She said while pointing towards a surfer guy that's sitting at a table and fixing the king's crown.

"My guess is that I have to work on the Queen's crown." I said with a chuckle while attaching a rope at the top of the giant star.

"Yep, you'll do the prom queen a huge favor." She smiled while walking away from me.

"Hey, damn, good job Marshall. It looks good." Greyson said while walking in and grinning.

"Thanks, I already added the rope, all you have to do is hang it up and you're all good." I said while handing him the rope that is attached to the giant sparkly gold star.

"Alrighty. Oh and idk how to ask Dani to prom." He said with a frown.

"Well, what's her favorite animal?" I asked with an idea forming in my pretty head.

"It's a rabbit." He said with a nod.

"Then buy her a stuffed bunny and make it hold a sign of her favorite color and just write Prom? Like it's not that hard, Dani is a pretty laid back kind of person you know." I chuckled.

"Oh wow, thanks Peyton. I'll do that tomorrow." He chuckled while standing up on the ladder and grabbing the star.

I then walked up to the table where Carter is and I sat next to him and started to work on the prom queen crown.

"Peyton! I love you to bits girl but remember to make it girly looking okay." Colby said while eyeing my so far masterpiece.

"Alright your highness." I chuckled then added a diamond.

"Okay on a scale from 1-10 how nervous are you?" Colby asked while sitting down on the bleachers.

"Urm, 8. The team they're going against is a pretty easy team to beat I'm not going to lie." I sighed while drinking my cherry coke can.

This is their first game of the spring season. And Mason is far too nervous. Because an Auburn scout is here. He's just watching Mason and some other guy that is also going to play for Auburn. And see if they need a lot of conditioning or hardly any. So Mason seriously has to impress the guy to even be considered a quarterback for the team this fall season.

Mason's dad walked up to Colby and I and then smiled at me.

"Hello Peyton. Do you see him?" He asked while looking around.

It's not Mason he's talking about. He wants to meet the scout. Of course, the first game that Mark has ever been to this year, he doesn't come for Mason.

"Yeah, he's seated all the way in the back. Down that way." I said while pointing to a guy far away from us with an Auburn baseball cap on.

"Okay thank you." He said while patting my back and then walking away from the two of us.

"Seesh. Isn't this his first game that he went to?" Colby asked while looking back at Mark.

"No, he went to several during freshman year. But that's about it. Mark is always "busy" to even go to a football game anymore." I said with a sarcastic laugh.

"What? Why? Sean's dad and mom always come. Shit, they're already here they just went to get snacks." She said with a chuckle.

"I guess because Mark doesn't really believe in Mason like he used to. And that's why Mason gets annoyed with his dad because his dad lost faith in the poor guy." I frowned thinking about Mason and his father.

"Will it affect Mason seeing his father here talking to the scout? Like distract him." She said while looking at me.

"Nope. Yesterday Mason even told me that he wouldn't be surprised to see his father being all buddy buddy with the Auburn scout." I laughed.

"Man, that seems kind of desperate if you ask me." She said while putting her elbows on her knees.

"Seriously. I just don't get why Mark is so ugh to Mason, can't he see that Mason works his ass off for him and he doesn't even take a glance like come on that's harsh." I stated frustrated.

"Hey Peyton, calm down. The game is about to begin. Just ignore Mr. Davis and focus on Mason." Colby said while patting my shoulder.

With a deep breath, I looked at the football game.

"Man, I'm one lucky man." Mason said while walking up to me and kissing me full on the lips.

"How was the scout?" I asked after we pulled away from one another.

"Amazing. I like the guy." He chuckled while wrapping one arm around my waist.

"That's good. Hey do you want to sleepover my house?" I asked him once we left the football field.

"Nah, my mom will be home. How about your place?" He asked with a cheeky grin.

"Hmm, nope." I said while stopping and smirking at him.

"What? What did you say?" He asked while tickling me on my tummy.

"Stop!! Mason!! That tickles!! I can't breathe!! Okay okay!! Stop!!" I laughed like a seal.

"Not until you say Mason is a sexy ass Auburn quarterback." He said while tickling me more.

"Okay okay!!! Mason is a sexy ass donkey." I laughed even harder with my joke.

"Nah uh, I said quarterback." He sang with a laugh.

"Mason is a sexy ass Auburn quarterback." I breathed.

"Awh was that so hard?" He chuckled while kissing the back of my hand.

"Shut up. You big meanie." I said while sticking my tongue out at him and his childish behavior.

All he did was laugh in return, while we both got in my car and I started to drive away to my house. With one question on my mind.

When will Mason ask me to prom?
