Part 22

Y/N POV

Karina's action of dragging me out of an active session had been noticed by the company and it's clear that they were not happy with it which was told to us by manager noona.

Both of our comebacks eventually got delayed, sparking another viral rumour which was somehow almost accurate.

"aespa and Y/N's comeback delayed due to internal conflict"

"aespa looking for a way to get rid of Y/N?"

These headlines made the aespa noonas mad and furious as they took matters into their own hands. Karina noona telling her fans on bubble that the news are entirely fake, Giselle noona did the same, while Winter and Ningning noona posted a picture of aespa as full with all five of us to prove the media wrong.

The faithful fans of aespa as usual, sided with aespa and mass emailed the company with protests that they're against the idea of Y/N leaving.

Haerin and Irene noona also texted me, sending encouragement and support messages.

After a few days of us laying low in our dorm, the company decided to post a statement. They apologised for even considering this idea and stated that I will now be on a short hiatus while the other aespa members will complete the comeback.

It was a questionable move from SM but it's better than me leaving the group I guess.

When me and the aespa noonas received the company statement, we were all currently in our dorm with manager noona.

Karina and Winter noona sandwiching me on the couch.

"Hiatus?!" Karina noona blurted out in shock.

"How is that better?" Giselle noona added.

Manager noona shrugged. "Your comeback is almost complete and making late changes for Y/N might be costly"

The room then went silent, only the sounds of the air conditioner humming the room.

"How long will his hiatus last?" Winter noona then asked the real question, her voice soft and nervous.

"Don't worry. He'll be back after your promotions" Manager noona reassured.

Karina noona then sighed. "Fine.... You're right. At least it's better than him getting kicked out" She forced a smile while rubbing my hands.

"And you might be wondering what you're going to do during this break right Y/N?" Manager noona then asked me.

"Continue working on my solo music?" I asked her back nervously.

"Nope" She simply said. "You're basically free to do anything for this few months" She smiled.

"So..... I'm on vacation?" I asked her with a hint of joking to lift the mood up which luckily worked as the girls laughed.

"Mhmm" Manager noona nodded. "As for your solo project. We'll continue working on it in another time" She added.

"So what are you planning to do with your so called vacation Y/N?" Giselle noona giggled.

"Ahhh I could use a vacation too now...." Winter noona then whined like a kid.

"I don't know to be honest. Could I possibly use the company's recording studio?" I said and looked at manager noona's face for approval.

"I can arrange that" Manager noona cooly answered, arms crossed like a boss granting her employees a wish.

"Whoa are you planning to write another song Y/N?" Ningning noona asked in excitement.

"I mean.... I'll try" I chuckled, still doubtful about my song writing abilities.

"I want to join too~" Karina noona pouted, wanting to join my free time.

"You can when you're free noona" I gave her a warm smile which she replied with a smile too.

"I'm looking forward to it then" She then squeezed into me on the couch, hugging my arm.

Manager noona then left with the noonas for their practice. Leaving me alone again in the dorm.

I actually spent the entire time alone in the dorm playing my pc with Irene noona constantly texting me like a worried noona. As usual not very productive, but I did write a few paragraphs of words for my song. I also made dinner for the girls.

As the day got darker, the noonas finally came back, masks and caps on to hide their tiredness. Ningning noona who was the first to enter, greeted me with a lousy hug naturally.

"Practice was that tiring huh?" I joked to her as she laughed.

"You not being there makes it more difficult" Ningning noona then let go of the hug when suddenly Winter noona's voice could be heard from the kitchen.

"Did you make all this Y/N?!?"  She shouted as I joined her in the kitchen.

"Yeap" I gave her a simple smile as she hugged me excitedly, hopping like a bunny.

"You're the best!!" She then shifted her focus back to the foods.

"Awww you didn't have to do all this Jagi" Karina noona this time said.

"It's alright noona. It's been too long since I did this for you guys"

"What are we waiting for then. Let's dig in!" Giselle noona said as we all laughed and sat down in our spots to eat.

They didn't even bother to go shower before eating dinner as the kitchen was filled with food, sweat and perfume smells.

After they finished devouring every plate, Winter and Giselle noona handled the dishes while Ningning and Karina noona went to take their shower.

Even though not having that much energy from their gruelling practice just now, they still made time to hangout with me in the living room, excitedly talking about their day. It didn't took long until Winter noona fell asleep on the couch indicating it's time for everyone to head back to their rooms to sleep.

Like a sworn duty of mine, I naturally carried her back to her room like a princess.

"Thank yew.." Winter noona softly said half awake as I just smiled and left her room.

Entering my room, I was surprised to see that Karina noona wasn't in the bed like usual.

"Is she finally tired of me?" I thought to myself as I lied down in bed, smiling with all this free space.

Then the door opened, revealing Karina noona in her pajamas with a face mask and her huge tablet in hand.

"Just when I thought I was free" I face palmed myself as she laughed.

"You're never free when I'm around" She giggled as she tucked herself into bed.

Silence then took over the room as we both scroll our gadgets to kill time.

"Noona...."

"Mhmm?" She softly hummed while still focusing on her device.

It took a solid minute before I answer back.

"Thank you for everything..." I honestly told her.

"Mhmm? You're welcome? What's the matter?" She nervously chuckled.

"No I'm serious noona. Thank you for fighting for me even when many is against me. Thank you for being there for me always and taking care of me" I confessed as the phone that she was playing is now turned off, her facing me with her shiny eyes.

"You're welcome Jagi...." She simply said as she snuggled closer to me.

"Like I said, you're one of us right. And I would do anything to defend our members" She added with a genuine smile. "And of course having you comes with the shared bed perk" Her true nature then came back as she giggled while I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever~" I then turned the opposite direction of her as she whined. I may look annoyed at her but this feeling was something that I never wanted to let go.

"Yahh come hug me like you always do!"

She ended up little spooning me afterwards.
