It was Monday morning and last weekend had been the best of my life. Matt and I had gotten so close over the past few days and I was really happy about it.
The first bell rang and I took a seat in science next to Matt. On the other side of me was the popular boy, Kian Lawley.
(Yes, Kian is bad in this but don't get me wrong I love him like so so much irl I just chose him cos I love his name)
He was known for his huge parties that everyone went to when his parents were away, which was evidentially all the time.
He leaned over to me, passing a note. I whispered to him if it was for me and he nodded with a smirk plastered on his face. I'll admit, I am slightly intimidated by him and his tattooed arms.
I put the note in my bag and turned to talk to Matt. He was doodling a sketch of a dinosaur. I grabbed a pen and started drawing on his hand. His hands were beautiful. There was something about them that was oddly attractive. I drew a bunny and he laughed saying it looked like a penis.
The teacher came in and began the lesson.
It was really boring and we still had 20 minutes of class left. I started writing notes to Matt saying how boring it was. A girl in our class, Rebecca, put her hand up and told the teacher on us. What a little baby. Mr.Collins walked over to us and read the notes aloud. "I'd rather be in that coffin of snakes we talked about than be here right now" he shot us a death glare. I swallowed hard. Since being homeschooled you don't really get in trouble, I was really scared. "Detention. Both of you. After school today." I felt like everyone's eyes were on me because I guess I was making a big deal about it? I don't even know.
*after school*
Matt and I walked to detention and he seemed so chill about this. "Why aren't you freaking out?" "It's no big deal, I'm surprised you lasted so long" I was puzzled that this was so common. In high school musical it would have been such a big deal...
As we entered the room I immediately rolled my eyes. Kian was there. Of coarse. He probably ended up here everyday. "Hey Holly, c'mon over here" I looked to Matt as if asking if that was okay with him and he continued over to the table Kian was at. He looked pissed. "Hey Kian." Matt said through gritted teeth. Damn, I've never seen him this pissed before. "Matt....So Holly, are you coming on Friday?" I didn't know what he was talking about at first but then I took the note out of my bag and it said about a party at his house on Friday.
I was surprised I got invited to a party after being in the school for like a week. "Matt, do you wanna go?" "Em, it's invite only" Kian butted in before Matt could answer. Woah, well he's rude. "C'mon Matt" I grabbed his hand and brought him to a different table before he punched Kian in the face or something. I sat down and held Matt's hand, trying to calm him down. "What happened between you and Kian? You've seem pissed since you saw him." "You really want to know?" "Eh, yeah..."
«Flashback»
*Matt's PoV*
I was getting ready to bring Stella to a party. It was our 6 month anniversary. I called to tell her I was on my way. She looked gorgeous as usual and we arrived at my best friend Kian's house after 10 minutes. "Hey dude." Kian gave me a bro hug and I opened the door for Stella. The party was crowded and the smell of alcohol lingered on practically everyone's breathe. I didn't drink so I grabbed a soda for me and Stella. When I turned around she wasn't there. I presumed she had gone to the dance floor and I went through the crowd of people grinding on each other. Ew. Some girl's ass bumped into me and spilt the drinks all over my shirt. "REALLY?!" I shouted over the loud music vibrating the floor.
I was drenched in soda and I made my way upstairs. I looked around for the bathroom and when I finally found it I opened the door. There he was. Kian. On top of Stella. I ran out of the room and out into my car. Stella was chasing after me. I put my head on the steering wheel and the tears started to fall. I loved Stella so much. And Kian. I can't believe they'd do this to me...
"MATT I DIDNT MEAN TO" Stella screamed after me as I drove away. The tears in my eyes made my vision blurry. I couldn't see where I was going and my car swerved into a lamp post.
The next thing I know I'm in the hospital and a doctor is talking to my mum. "Thank god for seatbelts, otherwise he would've gone through the windshield"
«End of flashback»
Matt pointed to the scar on his cheek. "Oh. My. God." I was completely shocked at the story and I looked over to Kian who was carving some shit into his desk. "If Stella did that to you then she obviously doesn't deserve you. You're way too good for her. Where is she now?" "She moved to New York a couple of weeks after the party. I haven't seen her in over a year."
I knew that Matt hates Kian, but this was the first party I got invited to, and I didn't want to be the only one not going. "Well I can't go without you..." I told him honestly "I wouldn't feel safe." Matt looked at me and chuckled quietly "I'll go, but only because you are." "Yes!" I hugged Matt and realised that this was an awkward place to do so... I quickly pulled away and the teacher dismissed us.
