"Not my idea of a good Christmas"

There's only a few places I can call home and I never imagined the Academy could be one of them. But it sure was good to be back. Back with my friends and family. Back with the Med Bay waiting for my first injury. Back where the threat of death was coming from Liam but I was actually in such a good mood that I couldn't give a dahm about him.

In the weeks coming up to Christmas I met an actual person I didn't know before. It was her fault but I apologized and insisted it was me.
"Oh sorry I didn't see you"
"It's ok...hey you're in my block you have 2 girls usually"
"Yea my sister Lucy and best friend Ashley"
"I'm Olivia by the way Olivia Salmoon" She held her brightly painted hand towards me
"Jessica Carino" I took her hand and shook it lightly.

I was asleep one morning but was awoken by 2 very smiley girls shouting "CHRISTMAS JAY WAKE UP IT'S CHRISTMAS" I sat up with a head ache and looked at my clock 5:23. "It's 5:23 wake me up later" I settled down to sleep, not actually believing I would get some sleep, before my arm was pulled quite hard to pull me up. They dropped something heavy on my legs making me jump. I put my glasses back on to see what it was. A giant sock with a red, white and green design; my stocking. I had given up trying to fight for my sleep so I adjusted my pillow to the back wall and started taking all of the presents out onto my bed: post it notes, candy canes, pens and an exam notes pad and a lot of sweets.

After we had all unpacked our stockings I found out there was a letter for me, Ashley and Lucy. "We have letters I'll go and get them. I also need to speak to someone" I got dressed into a black and red Christmas top and black leggings with red converse type shoes. I grabbed a Christmas bag with a PADD and a rose in. Before I went I wrote on the tag to say Bones.

I got to the mail room and took the letters out
Lucy, Jessica and Callum it was mum's writing there was also a letter for Ashley in a very fancy writing I didn't know. Probably one of her Korean cousins like Hikaru or the others. I was about to go to the Med Bay before Olivia came up behind me "Merry Christmas Jessica"
"Merry Christmas Olivia"
"Who is that for?" She pointed towards the PADD and rose
"Bon...erm...Doctor McCoy"
"Come to the main building with me"
"No sorry I can't I have to go to Med Bay"
"That wasn't a question it was a statement" She was walking closer to me before I felt someone inject me and a blindfold. Surprisingly I didn't fall to the floor, I was picked up over someone's shoulder.

I didn't open my eyes but I was definitely awake and shivering it was freezing here. Wherever here was anyway. I shot up when i heard a familiar voice, a little girl about 14, scream. Wait...14 years old...a little girl. I pulled the blindfold off to see Lucy hanging off the roof. I dived forward before someone picked me up by my waist and standing me up but not letting go. I turned to see the evil smile of "Liam! What are you doing to my sister?"
"It's good to see you too Jay" I slapped him hard enough to create a red mark on his cheek
"You shouldn't have done that Jessica" I was about to speak but he picked me up and walked me over to the edge and dangled me over so there was nothing to stand on. I looked down and my glasses fell off "Liam let me go now!"
"Let you go OK" he let go and I went falling to the edge so I could only hold on with my fingers.
"Lucy are you OK? I can't actually see you my glasses have come off"
"Yea I'm fine Olivia brought me up she's Liam's girlfriend"
"Oh I wish Bones was here"
"Aww you do love him"
"Don't tell Ashley I said that"
"If you have quite finished chatting" Liam was obviously annoyed. Just then the door to the roof opened and someone with a blue top came into my blurred view and walked forward "Liam Pike and Olivia Salmoon I think you should get Miss Carino here up onto the roof" it was the best thing I could have heard right now
"Bones?!" I was smiling more than ever even if I couldn't see him
"Are you OK Jessica?"
"All the better for hearing you because my glasses dropped"
"Oh yea" His tall figure tried to walk towards me before he was stopped by another
"Take one more step towards her and I push her off. And I don't even think a CMO can resurrect a dead girl"
"CMO? What the heck is that?"
"Jay he is a Chief Medical Officer" Lucy knew more about titles than I obviously did. My hands started to slip "Bones I'm slipping"
"I know I can see you"
"Let me help you Jay" Liam was planning something
"Why would you help me you put me here?"
"You're totally right Jess" I was just about to say something when I felt my left hand get crushed by his foot.
"Leave her alone Liam. There must be a way to sort this properly"
"And you'd know perfectly about sorting things properly wouldn't you?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean my aunt Susie McCoy" He looked astonished about that name but looked at Lucy and nodded.

Liam stood on my other hand and my grip fell completely. I closed my eyes, preparing to fall. There was a little girl standing on a stool to the kitchen counter with a grey haired woman baking. It was a beautiful scene, just a little girl (about 8) mixing nothing in particular with her grandmother. There was then a clatter from the doorway and another little girl (about 2) appeared with a boy (about 10)
"Lucy you're not supposed to do that to the door" The older woman walked to the baby smiling. Lucy? This is the kitchen in Atlanta which makes these people my family. Yes that's Callum, Lucy, obviously this must my grandma so that mixing must be ME!
There was a knock on the door and Callum went to get it "Jessie it's for you" Jessie I made them call me Jessie
The little me walked over to the door and brought in whoever it was. A little boy just older than me, with silk like brown hair and looked quite strong but cute in his glasses just like me "May I introduce my friend Leonard McCoy he wants to be a Doctor when he grows up" I was holding his hand not as a friend but like I loved him. Oh my gosh Leonard McCoy, that's Bones. I was in love with Bones as a little girl. This isn't a dream. This is my memory. I'm having my life flash before my eyes.

I was woken by an upset Lucy, a shocked to death Ashley and a smiling man with silk like brown hair, still pretty strong but no glasses now "Bones I knew you when I was a little girl" He nodded and I smiled "You had glasses"
He gave me his hand to get up and I did. He still had hold of my hand and stood up next to me pulling me into his arms. I'd never noticed before but he smells a lot like mint.
"It's OK you're fine now I'll get you down to Med Bay and sort you out. You've been given a lot of morphine so you're going to pass out soon" I nodded before seeing the bag of his presents and pointing
"The bag's for you Bones" He saw it and smiled "Merry Christmas Bones"
"Merry Christmas Jessica. Oh and also this was not my idea of a good Christmas" He was still smiling at me when I collapsed to his feet falling to sleep.
