Synopsis: Twyla Singer won the first stage of the Hunger Games spectacularly. Her victory in the 68th Hunger Games was the fastest ever recorded. District Eight now has a year of gifts from the Capitol, her entire family has moved into Victor's Village. In fact, she's even able to retire from her position as Head Canary Girl, which would have killed her within a few years. By all measures, she should have everything.
But the Games aren't over. Now, Twyla supposed to appear as respulsive and boring as possible, with the help fo her mentor Cecelia. Her family back home no longer recognizes her (not just because of her terrible scaring and extensive surgeries) and her friends remain antsy around her. And every year as a mentor, it seems like Twyla fails at doing the one thing she was meant to do: save lives.
Only Finnick Odair seems able to play the Game perfectly. He's trying to help her, maybe, or sabotage her, but she can't seem to speak his language no matter how many times she tries to learn it. Yet, he seems to understand her better than anyone else.
