2 years later
"Hello everyone," The talk show host greets her audience." Today we have four special guests. They are here straight from Australia and will be performing one of their songs for us. Please welcome 5 Seconds of Summer," the women screamed. The crowd roared as the boys walked out onto the stage. They sat down in the seats next to the host.
"How are you boys doing today?" She asked in her painfully cheerful voice. The boys respond accordingly, we are well how about yourself. " So, we have some questions from the fans in the crowd that we collected right before you guys came out here. Would you like to answer some of them for us?"
"Sure. Of course we will answer question from our fans. Without them, we wouldn't be where we are today," Ashton told her. Everyone awed. The boys hid their laughter.
"First question. Who here is single" Everyone except Ashton raised his hand.
"Second question. What is your favorite song to perform on stage?"
"She's Kinda Hot" Ashton said. Calum after him," Good Girls". Luke responded with" Amnesia". Michael thought for a second." My favorite to perform would have to be Long Way Home."
"Third question. Why don't you play If You Don't Know live?" The boys stopped breathing. It was the question they all dreaded. Why don't you ever play if you don't know? What's it about? The boys look to Michael, as if to ask what do we do.
"We don't play that song live because I am reserving it for someone special. I originally wrote the song for her so it would only be truly honored if she was there to hear it the first time it would be played live," Michael responded calmly. On the inside, he was ready to explode in a fit of rage mixed with depression and a tsunami of tears. On the outside, he was his stage, or public, face. Calm, cool, and collected. The boys set out a sigh of relief.
" Do we know this girl?" The noisy host questioned.
"She was before we started touring. My first love," Michael responded. The crowd awed at his response.
"So, did the boys know her?" The question being directed toward Michael. Luke decided to step in.
"Yeah, we did know her. She was awesome. She helped us write some of our first songs," Luke responded. The host broke her perfect, happy look for a millisecond and glared at Luke.
"Why aren't you guys together then, if she was so great?" Michael was keeping his cool better then the boys. His three best friends were literally turning red in the face from rage.
"She didn't want to hold me back and tether me to that place." The host was about to ask another question when the time for a commercial came up.
"Well, that's it for questions folks. Right after this commercial, we will see these guys perform live!" she yelled excitedly. During the commercial break as the boys began to set up for the one song, the host came over."You guys should play If You Don't Know."
"You should be grateful we are performing still," Calum growled at her.
"You guys are so stuck up. I never want you on my show again."
"Gladly" All four of the responded. The she-devil walked back to the seats and introduced the boys and they began to play. Since it was recently released, they played She's kinda Hot. After the performance, the boys met with some fans and left to go to a local radio show to do an interview.
"Hello everyone. We are here rocking out to music with the one and only punk pop princes' in waiting, 5 Seconds of Summer,"The guy spoke into the microphone. They smiled at him from their seats. At Least he wasn't fake. "So, how are you guys doing. I watched your interview on that show today, and Michael, that was some big news you shared today. Care to explain how you feel?"
"I felt like I should just answer all the questions we are asked about If You Don't Know, since I was the one who wrote it. That is usually a very popular question we are asked on TV," Michael told him.
"It is a very deep song. I actually love it. Anyway, since you guys know about love and heartbreak, what are some of your favorite things to get over the one that got away?" The radio host said with a smile on his face.
"I like to watch those Disney Life movies. It's like different parts of the Earth and they show a bunch of animals in their natural habitat. Also, listening to heavy metal is good too. Nothing like Go To Hell For Heaven's Sake to get over heartbreak," Luke told him.
"I eat a shit ton of ice cream and then go exercise all the calories off," Ashton giggled.
"I have a robotic puppy stuffed animal that barks and wags it's tail. if we are on tour I try to go to a local animal shelter and cuddle the life out of some puppies," Calum said, with the most serious face ever.
"I write a bunch of songs and show the guys and record them. Then try and find a way to get the girl to hear them," Michael babbled.
"Have you only had one heart break?" Michael blushed at the question.
"I have only had one that mattered. I thought I was going to grow old with this girl," Michael explained. The interview went much better than the one at the TV show. They got to choose what songs were played and they took requests. They had begun to answer questions from fans.
"Michael, what color are you going to dye your hair next?"
"I don't know, I think I will ask you guys when It's time."
"Luke, what is your favorite Disney Earth video?"
"Obviously the Arctic one. Duh."
"Michael, what is her name? The girl that If You Don't Know is about."
Michael thought for a second. To him, it felt like a million years. He had the power to say her name. To get it off of his chest. A name he hasn't said or heard in over 2 years.
"Her name is Arkam. Like from Batman," Michael said proudly. The three other boys look as if they had seen a ghost.
The name just rolled off of Michael's tongue. The name brought back memories, good and bad. Luke,Calum, and Ashton looked at their friend in awe.
