Alexandria made her way down the stairs at a brisk pace, confused as to why Colin and Penelope were calling on her together but she was also eager. She expected to meet them in the foyer assuming it was just a quick visit. But they were not there.

She stepped into the sitting room and found them sitting rather closely together. Alexandria cautiously sat down on the seat opposite them, eyeing them suspiciously. "Why are you both here.. together?" Alexandria questioned. She looked between the two of them to see them smirking? Penelope looked like she was about to jump out her seat desperate to say something.

"We are to be married!" Penelope burst out quickly. "What?!" Alexandria exclaimed, her eyes darting rapidly between the two. They both looked so happy. Alexandria could see Penelope trying to gauge her reaction, her expression slowly morphing into something else. She was about to say something when Alexandria cut in.

"I'm so happy for you both!" Alexandria smiled and pulled them both in for a tight embrace. "My bestfriends." Alexandria stated surprising herself by feeling tears well up in her eyes. "Don't start! You'll have me going!" Penelope exclaimed as Alexandria was blinking back tears.

"So how did this come to be? I can't wrap my head around it." Alexandria questioned as she poured them some tea. "Well..." Colin said glancing at Penelope whose cheeks reddened. "Oh.." Alexandria trailed off getting the jist.

"Were you not to be engaged to Debling?" Alexandria asked in confusion. "I swept in before it could become official." Colin stated with an air of confidence. The pair then went onto detail the rest of the events of that night.

"I'm upset I missed it." Alexandria pouted. "Your blood pressure would have sky rocketed trying to control me." Colin joked. "I am glad to have missed out on that part." Alexandria chuckled.

"On that note, how are you feeling?"Penelope asked genuinely. "A little better, Ben told—." Alexandria slipped up but stopped herself. Penelope and Colin both raised their brows at the same time. "And pray tell, when did you see Benedict?" Colin enquired unable to contain his smirk.

"I didn't!" Alexandria denied feeling her cheeks flush. "So we were hearing things then?" Penelope teased. Giving in to the teasing, Alexandria relayed all that happened the night before.

"It's just all rather confusing at the moment" Alexandria sighed and the atmosphere grew silent. "Anyway." Alexandria started. "What was everybody's reaction?"

"Mainly shocked but happy!" Penelope said but there was still a tone of hesitation in her voice as she looked to Colin. Alexandria urged them to continue. "Anthony nearly had a heart attack at our 'recklessness' and snaps at any words I say." Colin said. "Eloise is unhappy... she was already giving me the silent treatment but she is giving it to Colin now too. It is somehow more unbearable this time around." Penelope said smiling sadly.

Alexandria couldn't help but feel her heart sink, she cannot imagine the reaction she would receive if it was her and Benedict in that situation. Worry crept up on her suddenly and she smiled uneasily in an attempt to keep up a facade and feel sympathy for Colin and Penelope. But the pair saw through it.

"Don't worry." Penelope smiled softly gripping onto Alexandria's hand.

Alexandria had not seen Benedict in a couple of days, infact last time she saw him was the day before Colin and Penelope's engagement. She thought this was particularly odd for him he had not attempted to contact her in anyway.

All sorts of different things spiralled through Alexandria's mind she could not help but overthink. Alexandria decided to go for a walk in the park by herself to clear her head and rid them of unnecessary thoughts.
