Imagine being Bobby's daughter and meeting Dean after being dumped by your original boyfriend (high school AU)

You wander downstairs, a pint of ice-cream in hand, to meet your father. Your oversized sweatpants drag on the dirty floor and gather dust, but you don't care. Ever since you were dumped horribly in a group chat, everything has felt slow and you don't give a fuck about anything.

Sleepy-eyed, you enter the kitchen and call for Bobby. You look your at your toes and wait for an answer.

"Well, hey there, sugar," an unfamiliar voice says.

The sudden and rude introduction startles you and you drop the ice-cream to the floor, where it spills out onto the carpet. You look up and see a tall guy about your age with strong arms and a defined jawline leaning against the door frame.

"Woah, calm down there, sister. I'm just saying hi."

He looks you up and down and you suddenly wish you weren't wearing sweatpants. Why didn't Bobby say that someone was coming over?

You try to introduce yourself, but the words get stuck in your throat as you assess the situation. Instead, you stare at the stranger like a deer in headlights.

"So what's with the ice-cream?" he says, gesturing to the melting pile of goop at you feet. He leans down and you back away.

"Don't worry, I'm just cleaning up for you." He scoops the ice-cream into the container and sets it on the counter.

"Thanks," you manage to choke out.

"So, what are you doing here?" He takes a step closer.

You step back. "I-I came to ask Bobby for...something."

He leans an arm on the counter beside you and looks into your eyes with his own golden green ones that make your heart flutter.

Bobby walks in and sighs. "Stand up, Dean."

Dean does as he's told and looks to Bobby.

"Y/n, this is Dean Winchester. Dean, this is y/n, my daughter."

"Nice to meet ya," he says with a nod.

You smile and return the message. Dean returns to leaning on the counter.

"Uh, sorry for the state of myself," you say, "I wasn't aware we were having company." You shoot a look at Bobby.

"Y/n is going through a rough time," he explains.

"Who's the dick who dumped you?" Dean asks, putting the pieces together.

You cross your arms over your chest and lean on the counter as well. "Just some guy." You're not ready to talk about him yet.

"Was it bad?"

"It was over a group text."

He bursts out laughing and you have to admit, it's kinda funny.

"He sounds pretty lame." Dean looks up at Bobby and even though you're not looking, you can just imagine him giving Dean that look. The don't-get-too-close-with-my-daughter look.

"Well," Dean says, heaving himself to a standing position, "I'd better get going. See ya, Bobby." He looks to you with his green eyes that make you shiver up and down. "See ya around, y/n," he finishes with a smile.

Dean walks past you and you get a whiff of his cologne. You turn and watch him swing open the front door and exit the house.

You turn back around and gaze at your hands, trying to hide a smile.

"He's currently single," Bobby says and you look up, "I'll give you his number." He walks out the doorway Dean was originally leaning on.

You let your smile loose and grin widely, finally forgetting about that group chat and ready to move on.
