Imagine Dean and Cas discover that you have been locked away for the majority of your life because of your angelic powers.

Triggers: Abuse (mental/emotional),

"Now be good, Y/n," your mother croons, giving you a condescending pat on the head.

"Don't talk to strangers," your father adds.

"Strangers?" You ask.

He sighs and clarifies, "People you don't know."

"Make sure to come home at exactly four pm or we will come find you."

"Absolutely no funny business in public. It's --"

"Unnatural, I know," you say, cutting off your father. The excitement built up over many years now fills your gut and you're antsy to just leave already. Until now, the outside world has just been inside your imagination.

"Don't interrupt me, young lady, or you're not going outside for another month."

"Sorry, sir," you say, hanging your head.

"Alright, Y/n. We're trusting you," your mother says, opening the door. You gasp.

Warm light floods the house and clean cut grass is spread out in front of the house. Above is a perfect blue sky with clouds scattered across. All of this you have seen through the widows countless times before as you gazed longingly at those who walked by freely.

You squint into the bright sun and take a deep breath of the crisp natural air, preparing to exit your house for the first time ever. The unfamiliar yet alluring scents tempt your senses as you hesitantly step a foot outside. The sole of your shoe presses against the hard, grey ground in a way you've never experienced.

Your parents close the door softly behind you and you don't look back. You simply stand star struck for a few moments before taking another step.

Another step. And another. The world is awake around you and buzzing with activity as if this were any old common day in the suburban town. Families walk by with ease, taking each precious moment for granted. Birds flutter from tree to tree and sing songs to one another.

You continue walking on the sidewalk, pausing every time a car rumbles by. The constraining fabric of your new shoes rub against your feet and when you kick them off, revealing large, red marks on your heels. You leave the shoes on the sidewalk and continue your journey.

As much as you want to break your parents' rules, you want to be outside even more, so you decide to follow them in case the privilege is taken away. You avoid eye contact with every person who passes and every car. You stay planted to the ground and don't do any "funny business". It's not like you could if you wanted to--the bracelet you wear has sigils engraved on it to keep you in check.

Two men wander past you, but the shorter one in the trench coat watches you as you go by. He whispers something to the tall man in the leather jacket and he looks at you over his shoulder.

You avert your eyes and watch your feet walk down the sidewalk.

"Let me handle it," a deep gruff voice says and then, "Hey, can we talk to you?"

You turn and the two men are standing there. You shake your head.

"Please? It's really important," the shorter one says with a quieter tone than the first.

"You're strangers. People I don't know," I say, almost inaudible.

"I'm Dean. This is Cas. What's your name?"

"Y/n."

"Well, Y/n, now you know us," Dean says, holding out a hand as if expecting you to do something with it. He give up after a moment and shoves his hands into his pockets. "So, how come you're not wearing shoes?"

"They were hurting my feet. I'm not used to them."

"Why not?"

"I've never worn shoes before."

"And why is that, Y/n?"

Your eyes flick between the two of them. Dean leans slightly forward to hear your soft voice while Cas simply stands straight, studying you with his crystal blue eyes in a way your parents had done all your life. Could he know of you strangeness?

"This is my first time outside."

"Where do you live?"

"There." You point in the general direction from which you came.

"Who are your parents, Y/n?"

When you give their names, Dean and Cas glance at each other.

"Let me ask her something," Cas says.

"Are you sure? Don't be too forward; We don't want to scare her."

"Y/n, do you have special powers?"

Your eyes widen as you stumble backward. "What do you know? Please don't hurt me."

You try to run away, but Cas snatches your wrist. Cas stands still for a moment, holding both your and Dean's hand.

"Dean, it's not working," Cas says without taking his eyes off you, "Something is blocking my abilities--take that bracelet off," he demands gruffly.

"Why?" you say, still gasping with terror. Down the road, you see your parents marching down the road.

"Just remove it! I need to rescue you--"

You don't need him to say anything more. You fumble with the bracelet. The clasp snaps open and the metal bracelet slips off your wrist. The very moment it hits the ground, the world disappears.

Your stomach lurches in a way you've been longing for since you were young. Within seconds you're standing in a large room with high ceilings and dozens of book cases.

You turn to Cas with astonishment. "You can do it too?"

He nods quietly. "We've been searching for you. I sensed your power as we passed you on the sidewalk."

"Y/n," Dean says softly, "What did your parents say you were?"

"An abomination," you say without thinking. That's always what you've been and your parents were ashamed of it. They kept you inside for fear that someone might find out about your strangeness. From what they said, only bad things came from people finding out.

With a sudden change to his stoic character, Cas bends down and wraps his arms around you. "No, Y/n. You're an angel and you belong in heaven."

A/N: I have a quick poll I would like you to answer. It's really simple and won't take long. I just have so many fanfictions that I have to post, but I don't know which people would like to see first/most. So please, just take a minutes and answer a few questions. Thank you!
