Curtain Call: Part 1

Nico's POV:

Vaggie: "All right, everyone, here's the plan. Charlie & I will go to Vox's party as guests. Baxter, Niffty, Husk, Nico, & Cherri, you'll sneak into Voxtek while everyone's distracted using Baxter's key card."

Baxter: "Well, there goes my benefits."

Vaggie: "Once inside, Cherri, Nico, & Husk, you three split off and find Angel."

Charlie: "And then, once you find him, break the Vees' mind control, with the power of friendship...or splash him with water or something."

Vaggie: "And if that doesn't work, just knock his ass out and drag him back. We can figure out the rest once he's safe."

Me: "Agreed."

Vaggie: "Baxter & Niffty, find the source of Vox's signal and hijack it. Be careful, though, because once Vox is onto you, he'll respond quickly. Niffty, you're on security duty. This is our only chance. Guard Baxter with your life."

Niffty: "I can do that."

Vaggie: "Once Baxter's ready, Pentious will take over the broadcast, showing all of Hell that redemption is possible. Emily, that's when you make your entrance, and with Charlie by your side in a show of unity between realms, everyone will see that fighting isn't the answer...this time."

Charlie: "Yeah!"

Cherri: "What about the giant gun?"

Vaggie: "I'm glad you asked. While everyone's focused on Charlie & Emily, I'm going to try to destroy the weapon."

Husk: "How are you gonna do that?"

Vaggie: "I'll figure it out!"

{Time skip}

While Charlie & Vaggie mingle at the dinner table, Baxter, Cherri, & Niffty sneak into VOxtek with Baxter's credit card.

Emily: *via earpiece* "The pangolins have landed."

Me: *via earpiece* "Uh, what?"

Emily: *via earpiece* "The Vees are distracted."

Husk: *via earpiece* "Then just say that. Fuck."

Emily: *via earpiece* "I don't know for how long, though! Go now, and hurry!"

So, Husk & I head out to join the others in Voxtek. We stop in the middle of the hallway so Baxter can plug his computer into the security system.

Baxter: "There. That should disable every camera in the building. However, I would suggest making haste to the penthouse, you three."

Cherri: "Righto!"

With that, Cherri, Husk & I board the elevator and ride it up to the penthouse. Once there, we find Angel slumped on the couch, surrounded by drugs and booze.

Cherri: "Fuck."

Me: "Angie."

I gently place my hand atop Angel's head as he looks up at us. Then, Cherri looks up and sees Charlie on the TV screen.

Cherri: "Uh, guys. It's time to go."

Husk & I gently help Angel onto his feet.

Husk: "Come on, Legs, we're getting you out of here."
