Personally, I struggle in this part. Making a chapter long and interesting is definitely not my thing, but I'm just going to be telling you some do's and don't's of chapter length.

Short chapters:

These may or may not be fillers. If you are consistent with your chapter length and you make all chapters short, that's alright. as long as you write it good, then it's fine.

If you aren't consistent with chapter length, you book might look quite ragged. Imagine this: chapters one to five are super long, but the rest of the chapters are about five-hundred words each.

To sum it all up, short chapters are okay if you are consistent with it.

Long chapters:

Long chapters are the jackpot, unless you're halfway through the two characters' date and you find out that the girl's father was hospitalized and suddenly the world is ending.

Some authors tend to do this to increase the word count.

Main thing is, if you're going to write a long chapter, make sure it makes sense. It is totally okay if your chapter is medium length because not everything has to be long.
