Once the cash landed in the ref's hand, he quickly pocketed it, ensuring no one else noticed the exchange.

Giovanna Zimmerman stood completely still, hand on the door to the restroom. She hesitated, her eyes darting between the referee and the restroom door. Silver pats him on the back and smiles, whispering something inaudible. Giovanna's grip tightened on the door handle as she fought the urge to confront them.

She didn't have much time to debate the idea, just as Silver turns in her direction. Silver's expression was smug, his confidence unshaken by Giovanna's presence. He winked at her, as if daring her to make a scene, knowing full well the leverage he held over her father.

Giovanna swallowed hard, trying to maintain her composure. "Is there something you want to say, Giovanna?" Silver taunted, his voice dripping with mockery, as if he relished the power he held in that moment.

Giovanna tilts her head, taking a step closer. "It's always fascinating to see how far some people will go to prove a point." Silver's smirk faltered, his confidence wavering for the first time.

She was already sweaty, clad in her gi, her hair sticking to her forehead, as she stepped closer to Silver. She could feel the weight of his gaze, but refused to back down. "You're not as untouchable as you think," she said, her voice steady.

Silver lets out a laugh, "what are you going to do, tell?" He leans down to her level, eyes narrowed. "You could try, but remember who holds the cards here," he sneered, his voice low and threatening. "One word from me, and your dad's looking at a long stint behind bars." Silver straightened up, his eyes narrowing as he watched for her reaction.

She bites her tongue, her lips, her jaw clenching as she fought to keep her composure. Silver's words hung in the air, a cruel reminder of the leverage he held. But Giovanna refused to let him see her falter.

At her silence, his smirk grew. He claps a hand on her shoulder, "come on, I'm sure Robby is looking for you."

She shoves his hand off her shoulder, quickening her steps as she bounds down the hallway. Giovanna was supposed to be against Sam next, but her mother had found her after her last fight. Which, she won by the way. The only girls left were her, Tory and Sam in their division.

Soon, it would be just Tory and Sam.

Reentering the arena, rather than Robby, it was Tory who found her first. The girl was the epitome of confidence, her blonde hair pulled back in a tight ponytail, striding towards her with a determined look. Giovanna forced a smile, reaching forward and tugging the blonde into her body.

Tory stood rigid, hands hanging at her sides. "What's going on?" Tory asked, her voice low and cautious. Giovanna swallowed, knowing this was probably the last time Tory would allow her to get this close.

She pulled back, "remember what you said about trust?" Giovanna asked, searching Torys face.

"I need you to trust me now," Giovanna said, her voice steady despite the tension. Tory's eyes narrowed, but she didn't pull away. "I can't explain everything, but I need you to know that I'm doing this for a reason. It's not about betrayal; it's about protecting something bigger. Please, just trust me this once." Tory hesitated, her expression unreadable, before finally nodding slowly.

Giovanna grinned, reaching forward to tighten Tory's ponytail. "Now, you have a tournament to win. You've got this." Giovanna said, her voice firm with encouragement. Tory gave a small nod, her resolve hardening as she turned toward the arena.
