"Rick, honey it's nice to see you again" I backed away from my mom before she could hug me.
"Why are you acting like nothing's happened between us?"
"Patrick nothing has happened..."
I sighed. "Really the what about two years ago when you sent the love of my life to prison."
"Patrick, You were a little boy back then. I throught now that you were older you could understand what I was going through."
I shook my head "I wasn't a little kid, I knew what I was doing but I guess no matter how much I tell you. You will never understand, but I hope you understand this..."
"Patrick what are you-"
"Just let me speak. Once Pete is out of prison I'm going to marry him, and we are going to start a family. Just like we planned once I graduated high school. Also I'm taking up my career as a musician, you said that wasn't a real job but it's my dream and I think I could make it far."
"Patrick You can't be serious on still being with that convict..."
"We wouldn't be in all this, if you had listen to me instead of freaking out. But that's besides the point. Now that I've gotten older I have made big decisions in my life and I don't want you in them."
"Honey... I'm sorry your my son and I don't want to loose you."
I shook my head. "I have to go, If your ever truly sorry for what you did the first person you should apologize to is Pete."
I quickly left the house and started heading towards Starbucks to go see Dallon. It was hard to say all that to my mom, but she put us through all this. It's really hard to forgive and forget.
"Hey Dallon, How have you been?"
"Very good Patrick, glad to see your okay."
"Sort of. You know after what happened to Pete, everything hasn't been the same."
"Yeah, but wait until I tell him your back, He is going to be thrilled."
"I sure hope so. Anyway I just wanted to know if there was a way I could see Pete?"
He shook his head. "No after the ruling of the Juge whatever he says goes and it's really hard to go against it."
I sighed. "Two more years is such a long time. I just really want to see him more then anything."
"It must be hard going through all this and Pete is probably thinking the same way you are."
"So tell me how is he so far?"
"Fine. He did get into some trouble when there was a prison break but it wasn't anything bad. Other then that he has a good cell mate and no one really gives him a hard time."
"That's good..."
"I know you want to see him, and I'm sorry I can't do anything but tell you how he and how you are."
"Yeah, I still felt they went over board when they said I couldn't see him even when I turned eighteen."
"That actually got me by surprise to. Never through they would do that for all those years."
"I guess now, the only thing I have left to do is wait."
"Oh wait that reminds me" he says as he looks through his paper work. "Pete put his house in your name and also told the family that was taking care of Hemingway to give him to you. He said he wanted you to care for him until he was out."
"When did he do all this?"
"Um.. A month already in prison he thinks of you a lot."
I laughed. "Me too."
