Author's Note: IMPORTANT PLEASE READ. So, in the previous chapter, Evangelyn formulates steps for her revenge. Step four was to become his girlfriend and I accidentally wrote that she completed it, but SHE IS NOT HIS GIRLFRIEND, YET. I've already fixed it and updated it to the fixed version, but if it doesn't show up, I'm letting you know now.
Sorry for the confusion! Enjoy the rest of the chapter.

It's been 2 weeks since Nathaniel's party and I'd like to think that everyone made their way home safely. Derek and I hitched a ride with one of his junior friends that didn't drink (he picked up Lucy from Nathaniel's house later) and Maddie stayed over at Jennie's house.
By now, the whole school knew about what happened with Nathaniel and me at his party. The whispers and stares that I got hit a little close to home because the last time I got this much attention, I was thrown into lockers repeatedly. However, I always made sure to keep myself nonchalant and composed to all remarks directed to me.
"You're coming over this Friday, right?" asked Derek as we both made our way to his motorcycle, Lucy. Ever since our little moment happened, he hadn't mentioned it or gave any indicated that he remembered, which was just what I had predicted that night. Although I slightly regret not advancing from our kiss then and there, I knew that I would've been extremely upset if more had happened and he only remembered it as a blurry, drunk night. I filled him in with what had happened during truth and dare, but that was all.
"Yeah!" I answered without thinking. "Wait, no." I retook my confirmation and Derek looked at me confused.
"Why not?"
"I totally forgot that we were going to hang this Friday and," I bit my lip nervously and averted my eyes from him. "I said yes when Nathaniel ask me on a date."
Silence followed after I answered his question. I could see him taking a deep breath with his eyes closed.
"That's fine!" said Derek. His voice was a little higher and way more chirpier than normal. "Can we just hang out at my house today?"
I hesitated before answering. I knew that if I did agree with going today, I'd have to call my mom and let her know my change in schedule and I also knew that she hated when I made last minute plans. I opened my mouth to tell him that I couldn't, but once glance at his hopeful and sad face made me change my decision instantly.
"Yeah," I answered. "We can hang out today, but I have to call my mom to let her know."
Knowing exactly what my mom was like, he threw me an apologetic and sympathetic look. I pulled out my phone and quickly dialed my mother's number. After four rings she picked up.
"Hello."
"Hey mom, I'm not going to be coming home right away."
"Oh? Why not?"
"Cause I'll be hanging out with Derek at his house."
There was a moment of silence before she replied and I held the phone further away from my ear to ensure that they didn't bleed if she started yelling.
"I do wish you told me." She replied in a soft and not-screaming-like voice.
I barely caught what she said and I doubt I even heard right, because if I did, then I'd be slightly worried for the sudden personality change of my mother.
"What?" I said, confused. "What'd you say?"
"I said, I wish you told me that you were going to be with Derek this afternoon." She stopped talking and I heard another voice that she answered to before she continued. "Anyway, go ahead with him, but get home before 8:30."
