Recap: We were halfway to they class when I was pulled back roughly and I fell on my butt.
"What!?" Maddie said confused as she realized I was no longer next to her.
"I'm fine!" I yelled at her as I sat on my bottom groaning in pain. "Go on, I'll catch up!"
I squeezed my eyes shut and rubbed my back.
"Hello."
I looked up to glare at whoever dragged me down and met eyes of electric blue.
I breathed out his name, "Nathaniel."
---
"What the heck, Walkers?" I stood up, brushing my hand over my pants to wipe off the dust.
"I wasn't aware we were on last name basis." He swung his backpack over his shoulder. "Now, that I think of it, I don't think I know your last name."
"Brooks." I said just as the bell rang. "And now, I'm late." I began walking to my class, stomping extra loud to let him know how I felt. I didn't get too far when I heard Nathaniel call out.
"I'm hosting a party at my house this Friday. Starts at 6. Be there."
I continued walking pretending to ignore him. However, I smiled secretly to myself. I could execute the next step of my revenge at that party.
"Hey, Brooks!" He called out to me once again. "Tie your shoes."
I glanced down at my shoes, confused because they were already tied perfectly.
"They are already tied." I replied to him, annoyed.
He smirked at me and began walking the opposite direction, probably to his class.
"Good." He said loudly. "Wouldn't want you falling for anyone else." He rounded the corner and disappeared before I could answer back.
I ran to class with an odd sense of satisfaction.

"You're late, Evangelyn. Next time, it's detention. Go take your seat." Mr. Smith turned around and continued to write a formula on the board.
I quickly slipped into my chair, which was by Clay and Keaton. Maddie from across the room and gave me a questioning look. "I'll tell you later." I mouthed to her.
"Why are you late?" Clay whispered to me out of the corner of his mouth.
I ignored him.
"Planning to develop a bad girl reputation too?"
I ignored that too. I continued ignoring that thing sitting next to me until he spitted a freaking spit ball at me. Then, it was game on.
Clay and Keaton laughed silently when they saw my reaction.
I tore off a small slip of paper from my workbook and stuck it in my mouth. I rolled it around a bit in my mouth and then aimed it at Clay. Then, I fired. The spit ball hit him right on the cheek and slowly slid down.
Clay yelped in disgust and flicked it off.
"Mr. Abernathy! I wasn't aware you had such a passion for interpreting parabolas!" Mr. Smith said sarcastically. "C'mon, c'mon! I'll let you be the first volunteer!"
