Crystal's POV:
My fingers ached and my eyes were blood shot from lack of sleep. My brother Wesley and I have been traveling all day for the past week, no place to stay and no place to hide.
^Flashback^
The thunder roared again and the television started to turn to static. The news reporter broke the news, "I'm reporting here at San Diego's science lab, and I'm suppose to deliver the terrible news. A science experiment went wrong and now there's a z-" The television finally gave out on the worst possible moment. My mom frantically started packing a bag, shoving knives, food, a blanket, matches, and a flashlight in it. "Grab another bag and fill it with clothes," she ordered to me. "What's happening?" Wesley cried, groans and grunts interrupted me before I could tell him we were in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.
The morning awoke us even though we didn't get much sleep. My mom made us shower and get our sneakers on. She pushed us on the porch and handed Wesley a carbine gun and stuffed a box of bullets into our bag. "I love you both so much, Bill and I will find you again," Bill is Wesley's dad but not mine, him and my mom have been together for years now, "This house is going to get so overgrown with zombies and I can't risk your lives too, now goodbye babies." she gave us both a kiss and watched us walk off the porch.
Wesley and I spent the night in another abandoned house, we wrapped ourselves in blankets and cooked a can of beans. Wesley wrapped his arms around me as we laid down, "I love you." he whispered as he drifted off into sleep.
