Felicity's POV:

"Start the clock!" I bellowed to my step brother Tyler, he sat on the porch watching me shoot zombies. Every time we have a crowd of zombies we put on our silencers and shoot the shit out of them. I like to time myself so then next time I challenge to go faster each time. After we cleared out the last of them for another hour I went into the house and met Tyler in the kitchen, "Hey, what are you making?" I huffed, "Fruit and salad." he answered, I sat at our small brown table and starred at our parents' bedroom door.

The last day we saw them they went to town to buy some things at Lowe's for the chicken coop, and they never came back. The apocalypse started just hours after they left, luckily zombies didn't show up at our house for a few hours so we had time to prepare. But it just didn't seem right or fair. Not only have we not seen our parents but we also haven't heard anything from the rest of our family.

Tyler set my bowl down in front of me, "Eat." he ordered. "What if nobody else survived." I sobbed slightly stabbing my fruit with my fork. He got up and went into my room that's just on the other side of the living room, and he brought out a picture of our whole family. He kneeled down next to me and handed me the picture, "We can't know for sure how they are or if they're alive, but we can only hope. If they possibly are all gone then we will hold onto all our memories." I could feel tear brick my eyelashes but soon they faded when I heard groans and grunts of zombies outside our house doors, "I'll get them." Tyler urged as he grabbed his guns and headed outside. I laid down on my bed with the picture frame in my hands and listening to Tyler's gun shots, the tears finally left my eyelashes and down my face.
