Jordyn's POV:
Where do I even go now? No one is here anymore, I have no one. I've been walking for days and still no sign of my family. I've been on this road for a few miles now, I finally see a house at the end of the road. My goal is to get there before night comes.
The house had a dog fence around it and the bargeboard around its windows made the house look even older. I finally unclipped the fence door and walked onto the unmowed lawn. I got my gun ready, just incase. I see a hide-a-way key container next to the door, but first I check to see if its unlocked or not. It isn't so I check underneath the hide-a-way key container and I open up the door after a few struggles.
The third part about finding a new house is to check and see if there is anyone or anything here. I snoop around the house, no one in the living room or bathroom, but there's an open can of peaches on the kitchen counter. The can is still cold so someone was definitely just eating them. "Hello is anyone here?" I yell as loud as I can, no response. I made my way around the bend of the house and found the stairs. I started making my way up the stairs when I heard a creak coming from the top of them, I go slower after I switch my gun from my bag to my hand. I could basically hear my heart pounding louder and louder. I could hear noises coming from the bedroom right in front of the staircase, I could tell from the knob that it was locked, so I decided to kick open the door.
Jennifer popped up off the bed, tissues were scattered all over the room and she had containers and containers of icing around her. Jennifer was Tyler's girlfriend, despite the zombie apocalypse happening I don't know what they were right before it started. Jennifer was always the quite gal when it came to being around my family, she was always just talking to Tyler. But now that Tyler isn't here I'm afraid she isn't going to help me at all so we can both survive. "Hi." she said as she started to pick up the trash around her, "Hey." I replied, we've never really talked before. I've said here and there when she was up at my grandparents with Tyler, but other than that she was just another stranger stuck in the apocalypse.
"I'm sorry, I am such a wreck." she admitted, I set down my gun and sat on the side of the bed. "It's okay, look Jennifer we can find Tyler together." her face lightened up, "Really?" I nodded, "But you have to help me to protect each other." she held out her pinkie, "I promise."
