Jordyn's POV:

Ally held my hand as we walked down the long dirt road. We were in an urgent search for a place to spend the night, the night was slowing going down under the mountains.

We raced to a small cabin across the road and closed the door quickly. We locked the front door and pushed the short flower printed couch in front of it. As Ally went to find food for our dinner I headed upstairs in search of any zombies. It was a two story house with 3 bedrooms, (that's as many as I could see). The rooms were all dark but slightly dim from the moon's light, I kicked the first bedroom door opened; nothing. The sheets looked mostly cleaned I decided, that'll be the room Ally and I will sleep in. There was a small bathroom that connected from that bedroom to the next. I kicked the next one opened; nothing. I could feel sweat on my hands, and the gun starting to slip from my grip.

The last bedroom door was already opened a crack, I pushed it with my toe and nothing. The silence crept everywhere making me feel more uneasy about this room. I started to put a foot in when something grabbed my foot. My body started to panic, I didn't want to shoot incase it was a human, so I kicked and kicked. The grip from the other person or thing, was putting intense pressure on my toes. It felt as if they were all breaking slowly. I let out my high pitched scream and shot twice with my silencer. I will tell Ally later what happened, I went to the bedroom, limping the whole way. My toes were definitely broken, it felt as if they were all just hanging off my foot like a broken branch on a tree that just won't fall on the ground.

Ally came in just minutes after I made my way into the room, "I forgot you food." she whispered, "It's okay i'm not hungry." I explained everything that happened and we decided we'll deal with it in the morning, as the pain was beginning to die down. Ally cuddled her head up along my neckline, we sat in silence for a few minutes. "Did you know you're missing your necklace?" she asked as she rubbed my neck where my favorite necklace was sitting days ago when we were staying in a camper...
