Devin's POV:
She's so beautiful, she looked just like an angel as she slept across my chest. "Felicity Marie, I love you beyond belief." I gave her forehead a kiss and got up to help Tyler with wood.
We were planning on cutting up the wood for the wood stove days ago, but on Tuesday it rained and yesterday there were dozens on zombies outside of the house. Dead corpses laid all around the yard, Tyler led me towards the woods where we would cut up all the wood and put on the trailer to carry back towards the house. Tyler started hacking away at an old oak tree about 300 feet away from me, I should've woke Felicity before we came out here but oh well. I put in my headphones and hit shuffle, I like to escape with music, whether I'm pissed off, upset, or if I just need to get away from reality for a while. WE WERE BORN TO BE REAL, NOT PERFECT. It's my favorite quote, and picture on my home screen, my lock screen is of Felicity and I kissing in the snow. It was Christmas and we were dating 2 years at the time. She's a wonderful girlfriend, I wouldn't change her for the world.
Tyler came up behind me, shaking my shoulder violently. I took out a headphone, "Dude, my cousins made it here!" Tyler's grin stretched from ear to ear, I'm glad they have their family. Crystal and her brother Wesley come strolling in, giving everyone hugs. Crystal is the shortest shit I've ever met, 18 years old and is still 4'11". I give her a hug, I am relieved to see her, and how happy Felicity is to see her makes me heart melt a little. "Hey Popeye, what's up?" she joked, giving me a shove. "Nothing much, how's the weather down there?" "Temperate." we both laugh, and Tyler invites us all in for some fruit and milk.
"We're getting low on food." Tyler announces, pulling Felicity and I off to the side. "I could go." Felicity volunteered, "No." I immediately said, giving her a disgusted look. "If anyone is going, it's me." Tyler said, giving us both disgusted looks. "So did you see any of the other kids along your journey?" Tyler babbled, walking away from our conversation. Felicity turned to me, "They won't notice if we leave in the morning to go get food." I agree and we walking back to the table, it'll be good if we both go and Woody's Country Store isn't far.
We went to bed early that night, Crystal and Wesley were really tired from their journey and the rest of us really didn't have anything to talk about.
Felicity and I woke up just as dawn of the sun was rising over her parents' field. I packed in me duffle bag, three kitchen knives, our guns, bullets and waters. "You ready?" I ask her, "Yes." she answers and gives me a good luck kiss.
