Dominick's POV:
"Let's go you guys!" I called back to Eli and Deytan. We are on the road again, I I knew my aunt Lori's house was close by but it would still take days to get there at the pace we're going. Deytan slapped Eli again and I was done with their crap, "Stop it you two! We are in this all together, if you can't do that then go opposite ways!" I realized how mean I sounded when I saw the looks on their faces. I turned around for only two seconds before I heard Eli screaming.
A zombie was latched onto his right arm. The zombie had half it's head missing and it's face was covered in dry blood. It's jaw was sideways and it's body was slim but broken in so many places. Deytan started to pull me away as Eli got mauled more.
The images of Eli dying so tragically kept giving me nightmares that night. Deytan and I found a hollow tree in the woods about half a mile where Eli died.
Deytan let me sleep first while he stood watch but it didn't last long due to my nightmares, so I finally just let him sleep. My mind just kept spinning around the thoughts of Eli, and my missing family.
