Tyler's POV:
It's been hard without Rick and my mom here, but somehow Felicity and I have made out quite alright. It's been my job to take care of her now that they're gone. She's my little sister so I know she needs the perfect nutrition, and she gets exercise from killing all of those zombies, she always seemed so dejected from me once our parents went missing. But since Devin has come around, she has become much different; a good kind of different. She seems to have more spirit and hope for a better life after this phenomenon.
Felicity was still sleeping with Devin in their room so I decided to get breakfast around. I got out a few eggs that I collected from the chickens yesterday, and some bread from the freezer. The bread had to unthaw so I put it in the microwave for 3 minutes and pushed the started button. Devin about scared me shitless when he tapped my shoulder from behind. "Yes?" I said, as I got out a pan for the eggs. Devin and I have known each other for a while now, he's been dating my sister for a pretty long time now, but him and I have never had small talk like this. It just felt weird.
"I was wondering if you and I could go out on the porch, to talk in private." I whipped off my hands on the hand towel on the counter next to me. "Sure." I followed him outside trying not to pay attention to his SpongeBob flannel pjs. We sat on my parents' dark brown rocking chairs and he starred at his hands, "Well?" I finally asked, "You know Felicity and I have been dating for quite a few years now." I nodded and he continued, "Well, I was wondering if I could, um, have your blessing to ask her to marry me. And I know I'm suppose to be the supportive boyfriend during all of this it's just hard for me, because I want all the future I can possibly have with Felicity." I could see him crying a little, "Devin the only way to be supportive is to be positive. You and Felicity are perfect for each other, and deserve no one else. But if you're supportive and positive about everything, she will be too. You have all my blessings in the world." I preached as I stood in front of him, his face lite up with hope and he got up and hugged me. They were so lucky to have each other, I just wish I could've been this great before my girlfriend Jennifer left the day of the apocalypse, I really miss her...
