Song - Bail Me Out by All Time Low (feat. Joel Madden)

•Jordan's POV•

I woke up with a start.

Someone screamed.

I heard banging on glass.

My eyes darted around the car.

About eight walkers were banging on the windows.

"Shit!" I yelled, waking everyone else up.

"The fuck, Jordan?! I thought you were on watch!" Tucker yelled.

"I fell asleep, man!"

I took out a knife and shoved the car door open.

I stabbed one walker in the head, throwing it aside. Another came at me and I wrestled it off before killing it. But my knife stuck it it's bleeding skull and when the corpse fell over, it pulled the blade with it.

"Holy shit!" I heard someone scream in fear.

Tom!

A walker was half in the car, half out, clawing at Tom.

I ran over and pulled the walker by his dirty, bloodstained, plaid shirt.

It turned its attention to me, biting centimeters from my face.

I froze in fear, eyes widened.

Then the thing was ripped away from me. Two seconds later, it's head was smashed in and it's dark blood was staining the pavement. Tucker and Sonja dealt with the other walkers.

Tom panted in front of me, eyebrows furrowed, and nodded.

"Thanks, mate." He said, extending his hand

"Thanks." I shook his hand.

"Now that we're all awake, let's get to Kankakee." Tucker suggested.

We all got back in the car, this time Sonja drove.

I fell asleep again right away.

"Jordan! Jordan! Directions please?" Sonja called, waking me up.

"Keep driving. Turn right on 'Dead End Road' then left on the third unmarked dirt road you see out your window." I instructed by heart, morning voice audible.

"Alright, captain sleepy."

I couldn't go back to sleep so I thought.

Why did Tom come with us, anyways? He seems perfectly capable by himself.

If anything, I'd say he works better by himself.

But isn't that kinda a lonely life to live? Is there any constant in Tom's life?

He mentioned his mum earlier. I decided to ask more about her later, when he woke up.

I hoped it wouldn't strike a bad vein in him. I wanted to stay on his good side.

I owed him, I guess.
