Chapter 9 - The Truth

"FREEZE THEM!"

0326 fired an ice beam at us. Before it hits though, a fireball shoots out of nowhere and stops the attack. At the same time, lightning struck where the four had been standing, but they managed to dodge it. When it cleared, I saw three men standing beside me. One was taller than 0114 and taller than I, wih prominent ears. One had prominent cheekbones and one was giving the death glare to 0114.

"GO! SAVE HER!" he shouts.

0114 nods and takes a breath. He then runs to the ocean, leaps and disappears.

0522 looks at us. All of us. He smiles a sad smile.

My brethren. How you have grown. Thank you for bearing with my selfishness until now. This is the only way I can protect you. 0114 you cannot find her unless I stop hiding her. Water is my territory after all. 0114, come out and listen to me for the final time. Please.

I hear footsteps and 0114 walks up to 0522 but before he can do anything, 0326 freezes his legs.

He yells in frustration but finds that he cannot teleport out of 0326's glacier trap.

I will surrender myself to the Citadel.

We stand in shock. Even 0114 as stopped struggling and stares at 0522.

You have done nothing wrong, 0522! What - I think.

It is because of my past that the girl who has made you feel, 0114 and 0412, has lost her chance for a future with you in it. She will tell you about it.

But the Citadel? On what grounds? What crime?

0112 turns his eyes on 0522. You used us? You planned this? How is this protecting us? The one we need protection from, is you!

He punches 0522 in the face and there was a sickening crunch when his fist connected with 0522's jaw and he falls down.

0112 hit our leader.

0522 slowly stands up and 1007 starts to heal his jaw.

Why is it so important to hide them. Why is it that you know?

Because I met them when we were young.

Who are they?

0522 does not answer.

I go to him and lift him by his garment.

Short chapter update right? I know I didn't build too much on the romance. I just gave you moments. And you're not even sure who will end up with who, right? And the characters had very little exposure. I'm sorry (ಥ_ಥ) but please continue reading. This will all be explained in due time. And no, this is not the climax... Yet. <(‾︶‾)>
