*on the phone with Sam*

(Bailey) you are going to be so tired for school tomorrow, I should let you go

(Sam) What about you? What time do you have to get up?

(Bailey) early…Dad says wheels turning at 7, but I can sleep on the plane...you can’t exactly sleep in class.

(Sam) *laughs* says who?

(Bailey) Go to bed…I’ll call you tomorrow after school

(Sam) ok, night Beautiful

(Bailey) goodnight

-6:45 am-

*B and Nick are sitting at the counter eating breakfast, Dad walks in from loading the last of the stuff for the trip*

(Dad) Bailey, come here

*B walks over and Dad gestures outside, B looks around Dad to see Sam’s car parked out front*

(Dad) make it quick, we have to hit the road

(Bailey) *smiles* k

*B runs out to greet Sam, who exits his car when he sees her*

(Sam) *smiles* morning beautiful

(Bailey) what are you doing here?

(Sam) *shrugs* I didn’t want our goodbye to be over the phone

(Bailey) you are making it really hard for me to leave

*Sam takes B’s hand and pulls her to him kissing her softly*

(Bailey) yup *popping the P* definitely don’t want to go now

(Sam) *laughs* yesss! My evil plan is working *smiles*

Bailey’s POV

Nick woke me up when the plane had landed, the trip seemed to take forever, the boys used the time to study scripts and to get acquainted to the music lineup. I’m not a huge fan of flying, it messes with my ears and I feel like I can't hear anything for an hour or so after flight until all of a sudden theres this huge painful POP and my hearing returns. I used the time to catch up on sleep, so now I’m a well rested deaf person…at least for the next hour or so.

*Nick taps B’s shoulder and hands her a piece of bubble gum*

Thank goodness someone is in tune with me around here, supposedly gum will help pop my ears, for me its never really worked, but it does keep me more content until hearing function returns. Nick seems really quiet, and not just because I cant hear anything. I'm betting he is struggling again with his sugar…its been bad lately

*B reaches into Nicks bag and grabs his pdm and hands it to him, he obediently checks his sugar and then flashes the screen to B reading 318, he quickly delivers his bolus and smiles at B*

Now it’s a waiting game, sometimes the insulin will bring his sugar down and normal Nick will return…but not always. Sometimes he will struggle all day trying to get evened out again. I don’t know how he does it…a life without the amount of sugar I consume seems almost unbearable. Joe used to tease me about it relentlessly…that I gave Nick diabetes. Usually with twins, one twin steals more food or certain vitamins than the other…in our case it was Nick…I was a whole 6 oz smaller …but Joe claims I stole all the sugar in the womb so Nicks body doesn’t know how to tolerate it…thanks for the complex Joseph.

We exit the plane and load into Big SUV’s waiting on the runway to take us to the hotel. I can tell Nick has said something to upset Mom, from the look on her face there is some definite threatening goin on. I grab Nicks hand and give it a squeeze, he lays his head back on the seat and closes his eyes…that’s probably for the best. I send Sam a text to let him know we made it safely and for him to call me when he gets home. Ontario is beautiful, downtown here kind of reminds me of New York…lots of hustle and bustle…lots of restaurants and shopping. I can already see Livie’s eyes gleaming at the possibility of shopping. We are just pulling up in front of the hotel when suddenly I'm greeted with a loud painful POP and half of my hearing returns as I yelp out in pain and grab my ear

(Joe) *laughs* POP!

(Nick) shut up Joe! It's not funny!

(Joe) well, it’s a little funny...if you aren’t in a sugar rage

(Mom) Joseph...enough

*B grabs what is now Nick's balled up fist and he immediately unclenches and holds her hand*

(Dad) Alright, everybody out…we have a little time to get settled in and then the boys have a table reading later tonight.

(Bailey) I think this is the first time we have pulled up to a hotel and there weren’t a zillion girls

(Dad) element of surprise

Everyone piled out led by Big Rob, he is probably the sole reason my brothers haven't  been trampled to death by screaming ubers so far. We call him big Rob for a reason…he’s big and intimidating with a deep booming voice. If he tells you to move, you move….with purpose and speed. The boys made it to the rooms with relative ease…the young girls in the lobby immediately took notice and started texting and taking pics, news would spread and ubers would be here soon. I often wonder if we would stick out less in a crowd without Big Rob…he was kinda hard to miss. I am not about to test that theory though seeing as how I like not being trampled.
