When The Lights Go Down

*SUV pulls into the driveway and the boys hop out without saying a word. They enter the house looking angry and head upstairs, B and Livie enter afterwards to find Mom sitting in the kitchen drinking some hot tea in her robe*

(Mom)  well, what's going on?

*Livie heads upstairs to leave B alone to talk with her mom*

(Bailey) *sighs* they are mad at me

(Mom) and why is that

(Bailey) 'cause they found out that Jake and I are still together

(Mom) they didn't know?

(Bailey) I kinda didn't tell them

(Mom) *nods* so, I assume Jake was there tonight?

(Bailey) yes, Kev saw him when he dropped me off and brought the other two to help ambush me when they picked me up.

(Mom) Why didn't you tell them when you and Jake got back together?

(Bailey) because they don't really like him and they were thrilled when we broke up and I dunno...now they are really mad 

(Mom) well, understandably so

(Bailey) *defensive* MOM!

(Mom) *half laughing* B, you havn't been truthful to them about Jake for weeks now, you must have known they would be mad when they found out.

(Bailey) I don't see why it's ANY of their business who I date...it's not like I get say in who they date

(Mom) well, hun they are just being protective of you.

(Bailey) well I hate it

(Mom) babe that is something you will have to work out with your brothers, there is nothing I can do about that.

(Bailey)*Sigh* night Mom love you *gives Mom a hug*

(Mom) goodnight sweetie, love you too

*Bailey heads upstairs to her room and shuts the door*

(Olivia) wow, they REALLY don't like Jake

(Bailey) yea, I know

(Olivia) I don't think I've ever seen Nick that mad at you before...like EVER

(Bailey)  Yea, well, it doesn't really happen that often

(Olivia) I mean he wouldn't even look at you

(Bailey) yea...*phone buzzes with text*

(Text from Jake)Wanna do something tomorrow?

(text from B) Maybe...

(Text from Jake) wanna do lunch?

(text from B) I dunno

(text from Jake) whats up? Everything ok?

(text from B) no

*a minute later B's phone rings. Jake*

(Bailey) Hello

(Jake) whats up? Whats wrong?

(Bailey) Kevin saw you when he dropped me off, all three of my brothers came to ambush me when they picked me up and they are really pissed off at me for lying to them.

(Jake) Screw them, they will get over it, they don't get a say in who you date, go to lunch with me tomorrow

(Bailey) It's not that simple

(Jake)why not?

(Bailey) because they wont just get over it and as much as I hate them hovering I feel bad that I've been lying to them and I hate that they are mad at me.

(Jake) They will cool off just give it time, go to lunch with me tomorrow

(Bailey) I told you I dunno

(Jake) what don't you know exactly?

(Bailey) I don't know if I can or not, that's something I'd have to run by my mom and dad and they are in bed. It also depends on if Mom is able to take me and do pickup because after tonight Kevin wont be taking me anywhere and I don't know if there are already plans for tomorrow I have to check

(Jake) what like Jo Bros crap? *sounding angry*

(Bailey) why are you being like that?

(Jake) *angry* because I'm frustrated! I haven't seen you in forever with you being away on their stupid tour and now you are finally back and its like pulling teeth trying to pin you down for a date.

(Bailey) LOOK! I said I didn't know if I could go, NOT that I didn't want to so just quit freakin out on me, I will run it by my mom in the morning and let you know. I have to go because I'm being rude and ignoring company.

(Jake) fine ill talk to you tomorrow, g'night

(Bailey) nite *hangs up phone frustrated*

(Olivia) what was that about?

(Bailey) just Jake being an ass and throwing a tantrum like a toddler because he wants to go out to lunch tomorrow and I couldn't give him an answer right away 

*B changes into pajamas*

(Olivia) you look exhausted

(Bailey) I am...I've spent the greater part of the past two months sleeping on a bus bunk or hotel room, I'm really looking forward to sleeping in my own bed. 

(Olivia) I bet *changes into a pair of B's pajamas*

*B and Livie wash their face,brush their teeth, and pull their hair back before flipping out the lights and crawling into bed*

(Olivia) so, when do you start back at school again?

(Bailey) next week sometime, Mom has to take in some sort of form or something...

(Olivia) you excited to get back to normal life?

(Bailey) *yawn* I guess

*The girls talk a while before Livie falls asleep; B lays awake for a while before sneaking out of bed and making her way to Nicks room, he is laying in bed writing in his song journal. B walks in and doesn't say a word, she sits down next to Nick and Nick continues to write, ignoring her. B starts to tear up as she stands to leave and Nick grabs her arm pulling her down onto the bed with him, he sets the journal down and wraps his arm around B, B tucks her head into his shoulder with a sigh*

(Nick)*sighs* I'm still mad at you

(Bailey) yea, I know

*Nick flips off the lamp and B snuggles deeper into his shoulder before they both surrender to sleep*
